These are the best standard size handcuffs
I’ve had experience with almost all decent handcuffs and these are my favorite due to the double locking lever. You don’t want to be fumbling with a key trying to double lock handcuffs when you can just flip the lever, even in complete darkness. The chained version is preferred over the hinged because it fits people who are larger in size much better by allowing fat hands to twist to the sides.

They work as promised
Hopefully you'll never end up wearing a pair of these for anything other than recreational purposes. For those purposes, I can say they're a good choice for two reasons. First, the double-locking mechanism can be engaged by moving a small lever, usually just by pushing on it with a fingertip, or sliding any narrow object in it. My biggest worry with handcuffs is having them accidentally tighten, and having to use a key (as is the norm) to engage the double-lock means people are less likely to use it.Second, the cuffs are mirror images of each other, meaning that the key holes will be on the top (if you put them on with the 'bow' away from the wearer's body), so you can unlock both cuffs from one position. They're still handcuffs, so they are meant for compactness and light weight rather than comfort, but, whether that's a bug or a feature depends on your tastes. We've used them probably a dozen times, and haven't had any surprises or difficulties using them. Quality materials and seem to be meant to keep working for a long time.

Love these!
I did not realize these were lever locks when I bought them but so glad they are!! Absolutely life changing. It's so much easier to lock these on a struggling arrestee.

Works for LEOs
Bought these as a gift for my husband who works in law enforcement. These are great quality and he’s able to use them at work as a back up. Definitely worth the money to get the quality product. They work with the universal key.

S&W M&P excellence
Just like their pistols, these M&P handcuffs are every bit as good as the gold standard of handcuffs (the S&W M100's) PLUS they're easier to use. When I was a corrections officer in Missouri, I was issued S&W handcuffs and that was about the only thing we ever used throughout the state, and they worked great ... BUT ... engaging that double-lock was kind of a chore since it required you to poke that little pin on the back of the handcuff key (or the tip of a ballpoint pen) into that tiny little slot in the handcuffs. Not exactly the easiest thing to do, even when you were dealing with a cooperative inmate, and with an unruly, violent one ... fugeddaboutit! Not only does the double-lock slide tab on these handcuffs eliminate the need to involve an extra tool in the process of securing an inmate or any other individual, it involves gross motor skills rather than fine motor skills, so it's easier to accomplish if your nerves are frayed and you're either jacked up on adrenaline after an incident (such as a violent struggle with someone you're trying to secure) or you're just plain worn out from working a long, LONG night. Just push your thumb over on the tab once the handcuffs are in position, and CLICK! Done. Doesn't get much easier than that. Combined with the usual S&W quality, fit, and finish ... yep. These are some awesome restraints.

You don’t need to use your key to double lock. You can use the lever with a finger. Simple and easy.
