It works well. It's on the firmer side of sponginess and I used mine for wet sanding. The paper started coming loose around the edges but only about an 1/8 inch so it didn't effect being able to use it.

Great combination
We use the 1000 grit sandpaper sponge to scuffs sand the faded gelcoat on our boat. The combination of a sponge and the sandpaper works perfectly as you need some water to help remove the film during sanding. Buffing afterwards left a beautiful shine. It’s pricey but then, it works perfectly.
