AV/CVBS Composite to HDMI Converter Scaler 1080P (hdmi)

Surprisingly great. Carries 7 channels, DTS and Dolbly. Solved my Onkyo Receiver (famous for HDMI failure) problem. I now can enjoy my home theater fully with my receiver. The way I connect is: Blurry Player -> HDMI Splitter ->Ebaco HDMI Audio Converter->Onkyo Receiver (Co-axial). I tried the Optical output too and it works fine.

Cheap but good

I received this item connected it up and I had no audio out. The power LED was on and the input HDMI cable was firmly seated. I tried each of the audio output channels, none of them worked. Also, there was no red light coming from the spdif output port. I purchased a similar device in the past, it output sound like a champ. I had an issue with that device back feeding noise to the video source. !!!!!! I am adding this note indicating that I tried one more test before sending the item back. I plugged the outgoing HDMI port to a monitor and the back end of the device powered up and the sound channels activated. I am still only giving this device 3 stars ( from the original 1 star). My intended use / installation does not have a monitor and thus cannot power the output of this device. It is definitely not stated in the "manual" that the output HDMI cable is required to power the other outputs.
