Superb Customer Service
Let me take a moment to give a real review for anyone on the fence about buying this product or similar. After a prior smart lock (not this one) left me locked out my home in the freezing cold having to decide whether it would be cheaper to pay the locksmith quote of $200 or just break the door or one of my windows---I looked around in depth for my next lock, vowing never to be locked out again. This ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro lock is where all of the extensive research and reading of reviews led me. I ordered it primarily for a couple of features that were upgrades to my previous lock--first and foremost the USB where you can charge the lock from outside in the event the battery ever runs out while you're outside of the home. Secondly, I really wanted the auto unlock feature through the app/phone as you approach the door. It was easily to install, and for those who've installed locks before, it's the standard quick installation--nothing complicated or unique. While everything worked well and was easy to set up, I initially had an issue with the auto unlock feature not working as anticipated. (which again, was one of the main reasons I purchased this lock). Let me tell you, this company's customer service is through the roof top tier excellent. Unhappy about my feature not working--I vented and made a post in the community forum on their website, not even asking for anything, just venting. Well, they quickly responded and were suddenly emailing me really wanting to help resolve the issue for me. Ultimately, they sent me a replacement part, which did require uninstalling the previous part to install the new part---but I could appreciate that they were being proactive and checking in on me every step of the way. (and again, the installation was so easy in the first place that it wasn't too involved to replace.) Well let me just say, that did the trick and I am now consistently enjoying arriving to the home where the door has already unlocked for my approach. Great product, with a great team behind it. Initially I was going to give 4 stars for having the snafoo and needing to replace the part, but I think superior customer service to resolve an issue for a customer should be worth all 5 stars as well! (Bizzare things happen with all products sometimes, it's how a manufacturer responds that is remembered most)

Different models?
Update 6/21/21 Just purchased a 3rd Ubolt Pro but this time with a WIFI bridge. The dead bolt on this new one is phyisicaly different from my other two which suggests this company is continuing to improve on there product.. Connection through internet is not the fastest but so far reliable. Fortunately for me since purchasing this 3rd Ubolt I found that my 2nd Ubolt that had the constant blinking when unlocked was actually a malfunction. Blinking while unlocked should only happen when auto lock is enabled. (Doesn't state this in in manual). I suppose this explaines why that Ubolt's battery wasn't lasting long. That lock was fixed by a manual firmware update that was provided to me after I inquired about the lock's blinking behavior. I no longer use these in Stand Alone mode. They are much easier to manage using the app. My 2 older locks are going strong and I am hoping this new one will do the job just as well. Ultraloq customer service is quick to respond even though it is through email. They have not had any trouble resolving any of my issues. Great product and company! Update: 1/6/21 I wanted to wait a bit before updating to make sure the replacement part held up... So a little over 1 month after installing the flat buttoned version it failed. The fingerprint reader died but the physical buttons and of the key still worked. I sent a warranty repair request via email to the company and recieved a replacement part within a few days to a week. Response time was quick and painless. So far so good with the replacement fingerprint reader. Ill keep updating if anything else goes wrong. ------------------------- Original review: Its such a good lock I bought a second one. To my suprise the second one is physically different. There obviously has been a hardware update. But there is no mentioned of it on the manufacturer's website or the Amazon website. I included pictures of both locks. I'm assuming the lock with the indented inside handle and clear plastic number buttons is the older version and the one with the flat inside lock handle and black rubber numbers is the new version. Both locks are packaged with the same clear button version pictured on the box. Aside from the physical differences they also have firmware version differences. The clear button lock has a version number of V1.51 and the black rubber button is V1.55, both show to have the latest firmware when using the phone app. They work the same on the app and in standalone mode. The only functional difference I have noticed is that the black rubber buttoned lock flashes a red light every 3 to 5 seconds when in the unlocked position. The clear buttoned one does not flash its light when left unlocked. What interested me most was the finger print reader which works incredibly well and fast. I primary have these locks on standalone mode and have no interest in remotely unlocking from my phone, but I did play with the Bluetooth phone app and it does work fast and easily works within 30 feet very reliably. I really wish I knew there were two different versions because I do like how the other one flashes while unlocked. It is hard to see the lock position at night with dim light due to the whole thing being black but the red light makes it very clear it is open. I am hoping both versions of this lock are equally durable and last for many years, only time will tell. Over all at the moment I feel this is a good buy no matter which one you end up with.

high quality and durable but DIY install and adjustment can be complex.
This digital lock is both high quality and durable. I have had one on the front door for about a year and just purchased one for may back door. While I use all the features, I find myself utilizing the keypad most often, more so than the fingerprint or phone unlock options. I've had varied installation experiences: I successfully installed one myself (DIY), and had a professional install a second on the back door. The DIY installation is effective but requires patience due to its complexity. One of the more challenging aspects is installing and "training" the open/closed sensor. However, once this feature is correctly set up, the functionality is excellent—it's truly "absolute magic." The ability to control the lock via Alexa has also been a nice, convenient feature.

Strong, well made. Customer support was excellent
Received the Ultraloq U-Bolt wifi 8-in-1 in spring of 2024. Installation is straightforward especially when replacing an existing manual deadbolt; all holes exist; old strike plate worked fine. The Ultraloq is quite sturdy, strong. Wifi setup is easy as long as you have strong 2.4 GHz wifi. Fingerprint reader was always a bit stubborn. We learned to breath on thumb before using reader. Near the end of the 18 month warranty period, the fingerprint reader just died cold. Customer support worked with me to replace in a very short period of time; quite efficient and friendly all along. The fingerprint reader on the replacement U-bolt works much better than the original. Must have had some improvements in the design in the 18 months. Quite satisfied.

I purchased the ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro WiFi in September 2025, and it has been a game-changer for our home. The installation was easy, and the fingerprint ID and auto-unlock features work flawlessly. My child is especially happy that he no longer needs to carry a house key or take off his gloves to unlock the door in -15°C weather! Unfortunately, during a home renovation, our contractors accidentally broke the door sensor. Since I am located in Canada, I was worried about finding a replacement part, but U-tec’s customer service was incredible. I spoke with a very friendly representative who understood the problem immediately. Even though I am outside the US, they went above and beyond to ship the replacement sensor to me. Everything arrived perfectly, the part fit exactly, and our lock is back to working 100%. It’s rare to find a company that supports its customers this well after the sale. Highly recommended both for the quality of the lock and the professional service!

After doing a fair bit of research, i decided to go with ULTRALOQ for my smart lock. Installation was easy, but i faced some issues with my lock after installing. I emailed support and they were very helpful. They offered to send me a new unit, which helped to solve my problem! Highly recommended and it is value for money.

I really wanted to like this lock! Delivery was on time as I had international shipping, lock looked good and materials used were impressive. Here are my problems 1) Initially I was trying to register to the app, couldn't receive the mobile phone verification OTP - contacted customer support and they helped me sort it out 2) Installed the lock, couldn't get it to setup on the app - tried all the trouble shooting 3) Master reset button wasn't working on the lock - this was a major step to allow me to connect the app to my lock 4) After spending sometime calling internationally the customer support in the US. They tried to give me different solutions to sort it out, but unfortunately nothing worked. They advised me that they could send me replacement to a US address, but since I live abroad, that was not possible. At the end, their suggestion was to return the lock on Amazon as it was defective. I ordered another lock and will install it before returning this one, seems that the company has great customer support (based on my experience and different reviews I read) but the product testing is lacking as I read several reviews of people receiving defective products.

Tengo ya dos años con la cerradura, me ha funcionado muy bien, el modo de autoabrir me funciona muy bien y es muy cómodo (hasta el momento es el único producto que he encontrado con esta característica), solo hay que asegurarse de permitir la aplicación para que se ejecute en el fondo en el teléfono, una vez hecho, funciona sin problemas. La opción de usar la huella para abrir permite configurar el modo de auto-cerrar activado, así siempre que salimos estamos seguros que se ha cerrado, y es muy fácil volver a abrir si no traemos el teléfono. El registro de entradas y salidas me permite saber a que horas regresan mis hijos cuando salen... El único problema lo tuve hace unos días, donde el motor dejo de funcionar, contacte al soporte técnico, y pese a que el producto estaba fuera de garantía, me ofrecieron cambiarlo, lo cual es extraordinario, afortunadamente el sistema volvió a funcionar bien después de dejarlo un dia sin bateria, asi que no fue necesario hacer el cambio, pero me dejaron muy tranquilo en caso de que surja otro problema. Me gusta el producto, me permite entrar fácilmente cuando llego, nada de llaves ni necesidad de batallar con las cosas que cargo, la puerta se abre sola. ----------------------- I have 2 years with this lock, it has worked without problem, the auto unlock mode has worked fine, and is really handy (so far this is the only product I have found with this feature), it is just matter to be sure that the mobile phone is set to allow the application to work in the background, once that is done, it works flawless The fingerprint option let me to configure the auto lock mode so we are confident the house is locked and it is very simple to unlock it if we do not carry the mobile. The log has given me the possibility to know when my kids come home, when they go out... A few days ago I had a problem, the lock motor stop working, the technical support was really quick and responsive, and even if the product was out of the guarantee period they offered to replace it, that is extraordinary. Fortunately, the system was working again after I let it 24 hours without battery, so the exchange was not needed, but my experience with the technical support returned me back the confidence on the product for any future failure. So far, I love it, very handy, now I can enter when I return home without any effort, I do not need to worry if I have my hands loaded, there is no need to use a key or dial a code, the door unlocks itself!
