Great Tools. Make My LIfe Easier!!!!
This is my second set. I had been using my old set for a couple of years on almost a daily basis in my garden. It was becoming rusted out and had been abused and gotten wet. I knew as soon as my old set stopped working I needed a new set. I think the new set works more smoothly than my old set and came with lubricating oil on the blades which I don't recall having on the prior sets blades. I use these to keep my hedges trimmed since I cannot handle a large hedger. I can get rid of stickers coming up in my garden bed. Trim my rose bushes. It has 2 blades but I prefer the longer blade of the two. It is easy to charge and holds a charge for quite a while. Never had a problem with the battery charge running out before I was done and have used these tools for a couple of hours on occasion. I am extremely particular about my garden and these tools work great for me to achieve the perfection looking for.

>> DOES THE JOB --Earthwise Cordless Rechargeable Grass/Shrub and Hedge Trimmer
The Earthwise Cordless Trimmer works very well for light “touch-up” trimming, with a few minor caveats:GENERAL SHORTCOMINGS AND SOLUTIONS> “Safety Lockout Button” – very annoying, especially since you generally only run the trimmer a few seconds at a time to conserve power. And it is very inconveniently located – impossible to press when holding the trimmer in many orientations – I found myself operating the trimmer “2-handed”, that is holding the trimmer with my right hand and pushing the “safety lockout button” with my left hand every few seconds. My ultimate solution was to jam the “safety lockout button” “on” with a toothpick.> On/Off trigger switch – you have to squeeze VERY hard and hold for the trimmer to operate. After 10 or 15 minutes, it gets very tiring. It really gets bad if you are trying to trim the top of a hedge at shoulder level or higher (because you have to hold the "on" switch on with your thumb). The solution is to use a thick rubber band around the handle to “assist” your grip on the trigger -- just enough to reduce the required pressure sufficiently that it is comfortable to hold in the "on" position.> Power – Underpowered. Cannot cut a woody stem larger than about ⅛" in diameter – so I have to carry my garden shears with me for the occasional thicker stems. If I buy another similar trimmer, it will be a 12volt version (available from Ryobi, etc).GRASS SHEAR HEAD> Works very well. I have used it on a large exora hedge and winter trimming of small branches on my grape vines. Cuts slightly thicker branches than does the hedge trimmer head.HEDGE TRIMMER HEAD> Works well, but not quite as well as the “grass shear head”. Unless you move very slowly, the hedge trimmer head tends to shred and mutilate rather than cut. This is due to the “safety” design of the blade (designed not to cut fingers) – my big Black & Decker 22" hedge trimmer does the same thing. The “grass shear” head does not have this “safety” design, and so, cuts better. Indeed, I found myself using the grass-shear head for trimming my hedge rather than the hedge/scrub head.> For serious trimming a substantial hedge, you still need a big powerful hedge trimmer. But the Earthwise Cordless Trimmer works well for light “touch-up” trimming. Frequent "light touch-up trimming" is probably also much healthier for your plants.

Comfortable Hedge Trimmer
This Earthwise shrub shear hedge trimmer tool works very well. It is just as capable as my older trimmer which required the use of an extension cord outside.

bad buy - lasted 3 weeks
This little trimmer seemed perfect for trimming the grass around my plants. It worked great initially, but I could only get about 1 hour of trimming before the battery started to slow down. It worked well for about 3 weeks but now it does not hold a charge anymore and itʻs totally dead, dead, dead. Worst purchase ever. Also, Amazon said I cannot return it - since it has passed the 30-day return. My worst buy ever from Amazon. Itʻs going inside the rubbish can.

Not good for Bushes
I bought these shears for my wife because my regular sized ones get heavy for her. The grass shear attachment works well and cuts as you would expect. The hedge shear attachment does not do so well. It has a hard time cutting through anything such as leaves, stems or anything on the Boxwood shrubs, Wax Leaf Privet Shrub or other plants in the yard. The motor seems weak for the shrubs and several passes have to be made to get the blades to cut. I am a little disappointed in the cutting or the non-cutting of the hedge attachment coupled with the motor. It takes longer to try and trim the bushes than it does with a regular power shear or regular hand powered hedge clippers.

Great
I love mine. Works great. I lent mine out and battery charger got lost so I definitely ordered another one because of how great it is. Lightweight and easy to use

Perfect for light trimming
Pro: 1) I used it for 1hr straight and battery was still going. 2) Good for light trimming on hedges 3) grass trimmer is perfect for areas around pipes and edges where you don’t want your weed whacker hitting 4) I like the plastic coverings provided for the bladesPro & Con: Blades are like a medium speed which seems like a safety thing and is part of the reason why it’s best to cut in an angle because going straight down can cause it to snag and stop movingCon. 1) snags easily on branches about the diameter of the tip of your pinky finger. Note: it’s best to use in angle motion when trimming to prevent constant snagging
