Actually works!
I have been through most antenna types offered. All suck for home use and are even worse on a boat - except this one.On the hook with most antenna's I'll have it scan for channels and then it finds about 10 channels. We are usually line of sight with NYC so 25 mile range is more than close enough to expect some reception. Typical problem, wife starts to watch a show and the tide shifts or wind blows and we are pointed the other way - the signal is gone. Plane flyes overhead, signal gone.Someone mentioned that they heard good things about this antenna so I tried it yesterday. Impressed. Just placed it on the helm without a mast, 40 channels reported available. Everything seemed to be there. No problem with the tide, a little blip interference from the planes. Made a permanent installation and now happy wife happy life.Ordering another one. Going to be interesting having a boat antenna on my house.

Needs a 12 volt power supply for signal amplifier
I was trying to get it up on top of the mast and off the deck. Does not do as well as cheap made for house antenna that I zip tied onto the shrouds. My biggest complaint is that, they're splitter signal amplifier means a 12 volt power supply. Of course the boat has plenty of 12 volt power supply just not at the base of the mast. All the 12 volt power supply to the mast are lights that you don't want on when not necessary. So, to supply that power you need to run a dedicated line just for that ridiculousness. There's a TV plugged in there with 110 AC power. Why do they need to have a 12 volt amplifier? I recommend you do not buy this item.

Waste on money!!!
This is not the antenna you were hoping for. We barely get better reception with than without and the thread size make it difficult to mount because standard thread doesn’t fit.Don’t waste your money with something you can’t return by the time you realize it’s a piece!

Worked as described. Got nine or 10 channels in Washington state. Good product.

Four Stars
This is a nice unit, very small and picks stations from about 30 miles away.

Not very sensitive
I have a King directional antenna on my boat that works very well, but being directional it requires aiming. This is difficult to do when the boat is swinging at anchor. I was really hoping this Shakespeare 3004 omni-directional antenna would solve that annoyance. I placed the Shakespeare about 8ft above the water, same height as the existing King antenna, and...only got a couple of stations. The King gets about 20 stations here in the Bellingham WA area. I then raised the Shakespeare up to the second spreader on my mast which put it about 40ft above the water. And no improvement. So, I returned the Shakespeare for refund. It's a good looking unobtrusive antenna but it just doesn't seem to be very sensitive even though it has a preamp built into it. I'll likely try and fab a stepper motor rotator for the King directional antenna...or just keep manually aiming it towards the TV transmitters while the boat wanders around at anchor.

Works For Me
This antenna brought in 30 more stations for me . The one in the motorhome was not high enough as it was mounted on the roof . It was TORN off the roof by high winds . I didn’t want to put the globe back up fearing it might happen again . Made a mast and attached it to my rear roof ladder. Now I can easily slide it up and down for travel and reception.
