You don;t have to worry about whether the mounting fits your camera. use duct tape to secure it. I needed to widen the image for a video camera that had to sit too close to the subject ( due to space constraints) and I simply attached this lens over the front of my camcorder lens with duct tape. The resulting image quality is 100% indistinguishable to one where you have a proper thread fit between the 2 lenses. Obviously this only works for cases where you can leave the camcorder alone, without moving it around, and it only works for people who are not afraid to improvise. If you are meticulous about every detail, this of course is heresy.

the box was right but the filter inside was 52 mm and clearly wriiten on the filter. I clearly ordered the 58mm as the box said and description as well.

I got this to use on my Sony mirrorles setup for that blurry, stylistic look you get from the aberrations and distortions.Normally this would be a bad thing optically speaking. But stylistically, it’s awesome. If that’s the look you want.I love the blurry edges and aberrations this thing creates. It’s pocketable and fastens easily enough to your lenses.And for the price, it can’t be beat….However, I feel I can’t give any more than 3 stars because the .45x magnification isn’t even close to advertised. It’s barely noticeable. Maybe .1x or something.But please know that this is a SOLID 3 stars because it absolutely delivered in every other respect.

It's better to save the money for a real wide angle. At least with my Canon 18-55mm it doesn't work well.

I expected moderate quality when I bought this very low cost fixed focus lens, but I am highly delighted with the purchase. It came with a macro ring and a lens cap. I use it on a Sony VX2000 DV camera and I get about 50% more field of view - exactly as you would expect since its rated by the vendor as 0.5X on the box. The item, like many lens these days is anodised black and once the unit has been screwed in and removed a few times the threads on the ring became bare metal but still mate and thread OK. I keeep it on the lens all the time now. The macro is very good with a focal range of about 2" to 3" - enough to get in close and do fine focussing with the main lens on the camera, My main use is in crowded pubs and clubs where I cannot step back from my subject so the wider angle is welcome. Now the Sony 6-72mm zoom lens behaves as a 3-28mm zoom and I have not noticed any vignetting or color fringing, and while there probably is some in a high-tech laboratory evaluation, I honestly can't see any. The item came in a small vinyl leatherette bag and arrived by UPS in a secure carton. One downside - The Sony VX2000 lens hood will no longer attach (its via a ring-clip and knurled screw on the zoom housing) so I may spring for a lens hood which surprisingly costs as much as the lens !

I've had this lens for over a year and it's held up great. I do alot of outdoor shooting and found it to have little glare that can you can get from cheep lenses. It's also been submerged in natural streams were the Ph and other minerals in water can eat away, but hasn't destroyed the lens coating yet. Also this lens does not cut off the corners of the camara's view like other wide angle lenses can do.If anything happened to the one I got, I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Instead of the model VL4558 I received model VLC4558B. It looks different, not like the picture in the ad. Vignetting with zero zooming.Model VL4558 seems to be more advanced and expensive.Seller admitted "The one that we carry is the VLC4558B", and offered refund, after sending item back with free shipping label.

I Colled to this companny in order to return my item I had received because I made a mistake.they answered that there were no porblem to return, i did but i haven't received my money in the credit card i made my payment.I hope you make a solution to this case.Truly,jose rios.
