I used this kit to replace the snaps on my daughter’s Kate Spade kitty purse, after numerous shoe and leather repair shops declined. It was surprisingly very easy. The original snaps were only attached to the cardboard and one side of the lining. They both pulled loose after only a couple of weeks of use. So I punched the holes all the way through on both sides, and riveted brass snaps on the outside with black buttons on the inside. The results were very professional and much sturdier than original.

This was great. Came in one day and I put in 10 snaps right away. Was using vinyl, 2 layers and a stabilizer-no problem. Instructions are clear if a bit too small for my eyes and it comes with all the tools you need and many sets of different colors. Picture shows using a small piece of wood for cutting holes. I used a small cutting mat that i have for cutting open button holes. It does leave a divot so be careful of your surface. You also need a pin or awl for taking out the excess fabric from the cutter.

It is not good when the snap on my belt, wallet or jacket breaks off. Having to take to a cleaner or leathersmith gets expensive. The leather snap faetner set is a nice quality set that includes everything that is needed to replace a broken snap. The kit is easy to use and the snaps are nice and durable.

Needed snap for the leather piece that holds the straps together on a duffel bag for checking it in on an airplane. What I got was A hot mess of bits and pieces in a box. I could not tell you how many kits. Had to dig in to find parts and then my fat fingers would knock them out and all over the floor. I tried to use it and just could not. Needs better instruction to prevent destruction. I destroyed many trying to get it to work and gave up. They would not mate properly. Apparently you need to use a smaller hammer or hit very lightly. When I did get some pairs for the top or bottom to work then they would be easy to separate and I did not feel confident that they would hold. The box wound up in the garbage.

These will definitely come in handy for a number of projects in my house. I want to include some snap pins to a few curtains in my home to help them stay closed easier. I also want to use these for costumes that have certain style buttons. These are easy to install and the instructions included made these a "snap" to figure out, even for me who has never used something like this before. It seems intimidating at first, but only takes a little bit of pressure to apply these buttons to your fabrics.

The product worked well. I was able to apply snaps to a cover I made for a dog bed.
