I'm using a 50 foot Cat6 cable with this item, and it works great.

Even though this is intended to convert in-wall cables for internet use you can use it for other things. I own an Epson projector. It has a 3.5mm jack for connecting an electric projection screen so that the screen will drop or raise when the projector is switched on or off. Unfortunately, screens always have a different type of connection. In this case, my screen has an Ethernet cable. Ford some unknown reason these cables are not manufactured. Owners of these systems must splice wire from different cables to make it happen. (My thinking, home theater installers just want to make another buck making custom cables).This connector plugs in like a champ. It is solid and well-made. I like that it looks good plugged in and required no effort or cable splicing on my part. Shipping was very quick. I wish I could have purchased it singly; but, I understand why it is sold in pairs.

These work well and are inexpensive compared to other baluns. I use four sets along with an audio distribution amplifier to distribute music from a Sonos connect to various areas of my home.

It works. I hooked the two parts between a Cat 6e cable with no issues in transmitting/receiving a signal from my IR repeater system used on my home entertainment system. The IR receiver is under the TV and the IR transmitters are on the equipment across the room. IR receiver cable would have had to run across the floor and a doorway to the equipment. Using this product with an extra Cat 6 cable in wall behind the TV to the equipment solved the problem.

A real balun converts the signal from unbalanced to balanced and back. This device is only an adapter which converts the shape of the connector to the same connector used by real baluns. It provides NO isolation from one side of the circuit to the other and WILL NOT protect you from ground loops.If you just need to move a signal over an ethernet cable, this is fine, but if you actually need electrical isolation, this product description is lying to you.

Using inside a church, auxiliary output from PA sent to a soundbar downstairs so that staff downstairs can listen in to the service. Works perfectly, using CAT5e, 568B terminations.
