Flents Ear Plugs, 6 Pair for Sleeping, Snoring, Loud Noise, Traveling, Concerts, Construction, & Studying, Foam Earplugs, NRR 29 **New Formula**

I love these -I have been using this brand for years- I have tried others these are the only ones that turely work and don't fall out. I dislike the soft cannel shape stlye- they always fall out they don't block out noise. I also tried the wax disc I had the same bad experience. This is the only brand I use now- and have for at 16 years! I always bought them at Walmart but the package is small.Since I use them nightly I was happy to find them on Amazon in Bulk! They Really block Sniri g patterns Noise and when out in right they stay in. I Have read other consumer complaints saying they are hard/ stiff. (And scracthy?? ) 1st. I Dont find them stiff they are harder then the shaped o especially and thats what I like you can shape these to your ear! And they are Not scratchy I have no idea where this description even came from? They dont have a form shape so when you make it shape they will expand to your ear cannel not what sone company thinks your ear cannel. This is exactlywhy I love these they will form to your exactly fit. HOW YOU FIT them to your ear- I use I take out squish one end by rolling it my finger making it small slide in my ear. Once in I push all the way down so flat side is in. THIS WILL NOT GET STUCK IN YOUR EAR OR FALL BACK INTO UR EAR! THE SCISHED ROLLED UP SIDE WILL EXPAND TO YOUR EAR CANNEL making it a perfect snug fit. In the morning the flat side is exactly how it placed it in and I easily take it out. REPEAT with a new pair the next day!! Note: this blocks my husbands snoring and the TV when he watches it from the bed but doesn't leave me deaf! I can still hear my dogs in other room which I like cause I know whats going on in the house....

I've been using Flents foam earplugs for 20 years. They are perfect -- they are comfortable and block enough noise to do the trick. As the label notes, these are "now softer for better comfort" which it turns out means they are made of a different type of foam that is indeed smoother and maybe more comfortable but does not block noise as well. The problem is they don't compress as much as the old type of foam did so they are harder to insert and they don't expand as much as the old ones did so they don't completely fill your ear canal. This may not be an issue for someone with smaller ears but for me they won't even stay in, let alone block noise. Sadly I won't be ordering these again. So long Flents, it was nice while it lasted. Too bad they couldn't continue offering the old ones in addition to this new style for those who might want it.UPDATE 10/26/23 -- I emailed Flents and they replied to me and explained that their old manufacturer decided to stop making ear plugs so they have a new manufacturer and that's why the change. I tried to explain why the new ones aren't as good, and she said they did lots of consumer research and testing and are confident the new ones are better for most people. In other words, I'm the problem, not the ear plugs! She did say that Flents does listen to consumer feedback, but it sounds like this is a supply chain issue and maybe out of their control. I am going to see an audiologist to have a mold taken and get custom earplugs made which over the long term will be cheaper than the Flents and better for the environment.UPDATE 1/23/24 -- I have found that the 3M E-A-R earplugs are pretty close to the old Flents. They come in "classic" length which are similar to the old flents if maybe a little shorter, and "classic plus" which are longer than the old Flents which I prefer because they stay in even better. The only downside is that each pair comes individually packaged in a small cardboard container, which I find wasteful. But the product is excellent and a good substitute for the old Flents.

The plugs are slightly smaller in diameter than the last version I bought, but performance is not affected. In fact, they seem to be re-usable more times than that earlier version and are just as effective if not more so. I always carry them when I travel because they are so effective.
