Why don't they include this with the rmr?
I ordered this for my G19 that I had an rmr mounted on. I was loosing the dot from time to time. I read some forum posts and one of my friends immediately asked if I had this product installed. He said this fixed the exact same issue he had. If this is that important, why is Trijicon not including this with the rmr? You spend around $500 on a product and they can include $2 worth of sheet metal with it?My rmr is working perfect now. But come on.

Poor quality control
The “black” finish as others have stated is very bad! Just wiped right off and now plate looks terrible. No so much worried about looks however feel like this will cause rust on my brand new slide because it poor quality. Not what I would expect from Trijicon! If you look at other reviews also the side is solved due to poor finish. Can even seen the finish come off in the plastic bag. Shame on anyone for delivering product like this. This should cost $2 for this quality! Unhappy however we will see if I send back because it is needed for a build.

Do not purchase for the Gen I RMR
I did not experience any problems with my RMR until about a year after owning it and 1000s of rounds. I do have a Gen I, which most people are aware has a problem with flicker (Turning on and off during shooting.) I experienced this problem at the range yesterday. The battery isn’t dead as I didn’t experience any issues with flicker during dry fire today. I removed the plate and it did do an excellent job keeping carbon out of the optic. The bottom of the plate had moderate carbon buildup. For this reason, I would recommend anyone with a Gen II get this plate to protect your purchase. However, if you own a Gen I, I would recommend purchasing an anti-flicker plate instead of this item. I just bought one and am hoping this fixes the problem. Since it does not address flicker for older models, I am giving this product 3 stars.

Trouble free operation.
These are a necessity for trouble free operation of RMR. No issues installing on Performance Center C.O.R.E. Does not affect co-witness ability. Four stars because it's just way over priced for what it is.

Don’t buy if you expect the paint to remain black
Literally 30 seconds after my extremely overqualified gunsmith mounting my RMR with this mount plate the black finish came off on both sides of the slide mount... so we at least know the paint coat is absolute trash... this makes me worry about their claim that this product makes a standard RMR waterproof up to 44ft for up to an hour... now I’ve fired about 2000 rounds thru this G34 with no problems with it holding zero or the mount loosening... so I’ll say these defects have little effect on my accuracy... so far. But I would absolutely NOT recommend this product if appearance is important to you. I’ll only voice for its performance up to 2000 rounds🤦♂️

This was of little use on my pistol. The bottom plate did nothing to keep the red dot from flickering due to the battery losing contact. I'm guessing this would work fine to keep water out of the optic on a rifle but if you were looking for a pistol application I would search on Google for an anti flicker plate.

Helps but still needed a piece of electrical tape
The plate is well made from what appears to be spring steel. Fit and function was great. I purchased the plate to solve the battery contact issue with a type 1 rmr. Unfortunately I needed to add a small piece of electrical tape to the bottom of the battery to keep the dot from flickering due to the battery losing contact. Not the fault of the sealing plate at all. After adding the plate and piece of electrical tape the problem was solved.

Does what it's supposed to do. No idea why Trijicon doesn't just include it standard with the RMR in the first place though. Note that you need a different sealing plate if you're going to put this on a Glock MOS gun.
