So the reason I bought this .... My Non Verbal Autistic 5 year old is completely hypnotized by running water. I'm sure most of you can't grasp the nightmares this creates. We've tried everything and then I thought of this. It stopped everything instantly with him having the constant draw to every water source. So all in it's a great smart valve but for my purpose it lifted a dark dark cloud that my family has been battling. It exceeded what I thought it would be by a lot. I am completely impressed with every piece of hardware included. I had no issues at all. Solid solid solid 🪨 Thank you ❤️

Unreliable. Was offline when I had an actual water leak.
Installed and set it up, without any problems. Tested it multiple times, without any problems.Fast forward 4 months... We had a water leak in the house. A small crack on our refrigerator line.We were not home at the time. But fortunately I have water leak detectors in areas of the house, like the refrigerator, toilets, washing machine, dishwasher...But! When I tried to shut off the water remotely. The device was offline, and completely useless in an emergency! I had to call my neighbor to go over and shut off my water.Once I got home to take a look at it. I was finally able to get it back online after unplugging it, re-plugging it and reconnecting it a few times. But it still won't do anything. While the app said it did open and close the valve. I stood there and watched to do absolutely nothing. So I guess it's a blessing that it was offline. Otherwise I would assumed the valve was off, meanwhile who knows how much damage would have been done to my house, if the water would continue to run.So obviously it's past the return date. In the garbage it goes.

Nice Device
Nice little device, only problem is the mounting of the unit (head) , of course the brackets they supply, although well intended, wouldn't work on my American made Apollo ball valve . But since i am very handy and have lots of hardware stuff available, within a couple of hrs i had this device installed, connected very easy to my network, overall happy with the product.

Works well, sturdy, secure.
This is one of those products, the successful application of which will depend in large degree on the mechanical aptitude of the installer. Note that there is an earlier version, with metal pipe clamp that attaches with bolts, and a later improved version that attaches with 2 SS hose clamps, this review is on the 2nd version shown in my pic.First the cons: The bracket that mounts to the pipe with SS hose clamps, was slightly bent in shipment I guess. The part of the bracket that mounts to the actuator, is secured with two 5mm hex drive 6mm screws. One side of the bracket has two 6mm rivet nuts and the holes on the other side did not align (the holes are fairly tight tolerance so wiggling wouldn't work. I had to clamp one side of the bracket in a vice and use an adjustable wrench to slightly torque the bracket to bring the holes into alignment. Not a big deal if you have the tools handy, but maybe a good idea to package better (the box was not damaged).I intended to measure the force needed to operate the valve as well as the force the actuator put out (using a digital weigh scale at right angles) - but in the end I just slapped it together to see if I'd get smoke of action . . . action it is! In the picture, the actuator is shown parallel to the wall, I had to cut a hole in the wall for clearance, figuring this would be easier than unsweating the valve in a maze of plumbing between well tank and radon remediation system. The actuator is rigid and does not appear to bend or flex as it moves the valve. On opening, actuator stops about 1/4" (measured at end of handle) before full travel of handle. The valve appears to be fully open in terms of flow volume, and pushing against handle moves it the last little bit. In the more important closing direction, it takes the handle fully to the stop, so that's good. Altogether a good value I think.

Works, even in tight spaces without exact alignment!
The media could not be loaded. I was a little hesitant at first that this unit wouldn't work on my setup. My water valve is inside the wall very flush to the interior side of the exterior stucco of the house, and therefore the unit does not exactly fit flush over the top of the water valve. It's offset maybe 10-15 degrees, and therefore I didn't tighten the bottom clamp as tightly and left just a little bit of wiggle room. I was pleasantly surprised that the smart valve still works just fine even though it's not perfectly aligned on top of the water valve. The motor travels to full open and closed in both directions without issue. The Smart Life app was easy to set up and device paired perfectly the first time. Overall, I am very pleased this thing still works despite the alignment issues. Recommended!

Neat & useful for price, but I did have a cutoff that ignited on its own
I installed this unit to cut our home water off when we leave our home and I forget. So time will tell how its durability survives, but so far, so good! ,,,,, UPDATE months later: On a cold winter morning it cut off on its own, without notification. So this caused me to think and search for frozen lines, thankfully I discovered it was this cut off that activated on its own without notification. I can activate it from anywhere. It really seems to work well. Just be sure you tightened the screw rings tight as you can without stripping. I had to modify the wall surroundings slightly so I could get the bands around the line where I installed it onto the water line. I like the parts included for different install applications. I also like that the power cord is long enough for a distant power source and the power cord connects in the middle to allow ability to thread down the wall. For the money especially, this unit is awesome. I was going to have a plumbing company install their similar version of this, but it was going to cost over $600. So this one was simple enough for me to install myself and save money. Only time will tell to completely recommend.
