I love this book! it's worth trying her meal plan, as prescribed!
I got this book a few weeks ago and I love it! I haven't attempted to strictly follow her 4 week plan, but I've made several recipes from the first 2 weeks. The recipes are easy to follow. For those who don't want to think about a shopping list, she includes a complete shopping list for each week. I like that she doesn't make you use an entire page of ingredients, which is helpful for me because I am on the go. I love cooking, but sometimes I don't want to add 20 different ingredients to make one dish, especially when I have a busy week of class and work. She also includes the macronutrient information, which is helpful to know approximately what you're consuming. I usually enter my food into an online food tracker, so my calories and macros are slightly different, but if you're not into tracking your food, it's fairly close. Each day has a variety of food, so you're not eating the same thing day in and out. It’s nice to eat minimally processed foods, and portion them, and not feel like death because you ate chicken breast AGAIN.Each recipe generally yields 2 to 4 servings. There are a few single serving recipes (the banana mug cake and the paleo English muffin, for example) and some of the recipes for 4, I actually made it into 2 portions (the veggie soup, for example, has 62 calories per serving. I combined it into 2 servings for a little bit more of a substantial lunch!) If you are cooking for someone else, they may be inclined to enjoy the dishes as well. My picky eater husband enjoyed the veggie soup.I made a few substitutions, mostly for taste and because I h ad extra ingredients. For example, I had a bunch of dinosaur kale that I threw into the veggie soup because I had it. The recipe didn’t call for it, but it was still really good. For the paleo English muffin, I added the ghee while it was cold and merely stirred it in. I also weighed my coconut flour vs using the tablespoon for more accurate results. I tried it her way and then I weighed it, and the texture and taste was perfect. Some people question the paleo diet and the exclusion of grains and legumes, but I think strict adherence to the diet will help one feel better. You really do feel different when you don’t eat like garbage. For those who are skeptical, I would highly recommend you give it a try. She recommends daily exercise, which isn't something I feel like I've heard from a lot of people who are paleo. Cooking with her diet isn’t a hit to your bank account either. She advocates the use of locally sourced, fresh foods, but if you don’t have access to it or can’t afford grass fed beef or grass fed ghee, you will still yield a good, affordable meal. If you portion out your food correctly, you could find that you’d spend less on food than you otherwise would have. I'm of the belief that if you want to eat beans, lentils, oats, and quinoa, you should, but I would try out the diet as prescribed and then add those foods back into your diet before you write it off.Try the book! I will continue to use her recipes for months to come (especially during the week!)

Good, pack full of info, diet/recipe ideas!
I personally had heard of the Paleo diet only twice before getting this book. I searched the internet for more information about it so I understood the concept more. Although I am a picky eater, some of the recipes in this book seemed so good & fairly easy. Plus the ingredients are healthier then most meals I consume. I also have 2 close friends & an Occupational Therapist who were told to start this diet, so recieving this book at a reduced cost in exchange for my review was very exciting. I love that in the begining this book explains in depth exactly what Paleo is, its benefits & also answers other questions people might have. The what to eat & what to avoid lists in the book are also great. If you have nut allergies this diet might be very hard to follow as alot of nuts & almond flour seems to be used. The 1st big part of the book is your first 4 weeks (or 28 days hense the title) of using/starting this diet & changing your lifestyle. The book doesnt contain many pictures, but it does provide you with lists of yummy spices, weekly shopping lists, & weekly planned meals. As you continue in the book, youll see more information about continuing the lifestyle change after the 1st 4 weeks. Theres even a chart example for you to use to chart your favorite recipes or snacks. The book contains about 130 individual recipes with instructions, as well as ideas for 5 ingredent or less meal ideas! I like this book because it is full of ideas to fit everyones likes, and all recipes are healthy. I have sharred recipes with friends who need to start this diet. They love the book & cant wait to try more food recipes. I am happy to have been given the opportunity to check out & read this book because it opened my mind up to healthier food choices.

Easy transition to Paleo!
As someone who had heard of the Paleo lifestyle but knew nothing about it, I found this book informative and a great way to make the transition. (I don't know that my family is ready to wholly transition to Paleo, but I'd be willing to try a lot of the recipes.) This book starts with an intro and some answered questions, then moves on into pantry essentials, kitchen tools to have, then onto the 28 day plan, week by week. Each week offers the menu plan, the shopping list for the week, and the recipes are all included. Each recipe is relatively simple and includes nutrition info (calories, fat content, carbs, sugar, sodium, and protein content.) I wish it had more pictures of the recipes, but that's not a deal breaker.I received a free copy of the paperback in exchange for my unbiased review.

Paleo in 28 is Great
This book has completely opened my eyes to a whole new lifestyle of eating. This isn't just your basic diet book. This is a book to help you turn your eating habits completely around. If you need to lose weight, if you're ready to eat healthier, if you're tired of eating processed foods, this book may be for you. This book is very informative. The author did a great job writing this book! It points out the many benefits of the Paleo lifestyle. It's packed with 130 recipes, a meal plan, and a shopping list so you know exactly what to buy! The gluten free recipes are great for people with gluten allergies too. These foods take 5 ingredients too, plus a few basic things you find in your pantry. Although it would have been nice if the book included photos of the meals as I'm drawn to photos typically. So far I really enjoy looking at the recipes and have bookmarked a few that I want to try soon! *I received this book free in exchange for my review*
