The component was well made but the plastic internal separators are slightly flimsy and easy to break off. Watch out when screwing in the wires!

This has a safety device that switches on the current only when a bulb is inserted; Philips Hue bulbs do not press the safety switch enough so don't work - I had to stick a small spacer between the bulk contacts for the holder to be live...

Used to replace a broken holder in an "antique" lamp. Fits properly, is electrically safe and looks "right".

Purchased for the restoration of an old desk lamp. I really liked the fact that the earth terminal was hidden inside the unit, as opposed to an ugly pimple on the side of the switch unit, and like that fact it has a safety switch built in - very clever. Could be improved by offering a matching metal cord grip that could screw into the back, as I had to source an alternative product to match.

Easy to fit and stunning looking product

I ordered the product in anticipation of completing the renovation of an old standard lamp.My fault I know, but I didn't actually open the packet until the 7th May to fit it. Sods law..it didn't work, the on/off switch was seized/jammed solid in the off position.Course it was well past the return date,so no chance of returning it.An observation on the actual quality of the item, it was not high quality !I bought another one locally, not too expensive, and it all works well.

Perfect size, I managed to replaces the switch by myself, without needed to call for and handyman, which it will cost much more.
