Yo Sushi Cookbook
'Yo Sushi' is a wonderful book showing the techniques and method of Japanese cooking. It is clear to cook from and the direction and explanations are excellent. There is a brief introduction to Sushi and Japanese cooking and the terms used etc and then it's on to the recipes, which covers some from the restaurants and a few additional ones for this book. This book gradually increases in difficulty as you progress through the recipes and by the end you should be a fairly competent home sushi cook. This is beautifully illustrated with mouth watering photography and the overall design and format is very pleasing on the eye. If you like Sushi and always fancied giving it a try then this is the place to start and before long you'll be creating your own mini masterpieces to delight in and enjoy.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

Over 100 recipes, all wonderful!
Didn't get it here, but I feel the need to tell you about this wonderful book! This book makes complicated dishes approachable and fun to cook. I've been picking about 2 new recipes a week to try out and they've all been wonderful.I would recommend this book over many of the alternatives, especially for the price. Some books may have more recipes, but likely, they have fewer worth while recipes.Buy it!

Fantastic range of recipes with easy to follow instructions
I bought this book as a present for my partner who absolutely loves Yo! Sushi. Unfortunately we don't live near a Yo! Sushi restaurant so I thought we could try to make some of the recipes at home. We had such a lot of fun making the ISO rolls. The spicy chicken ISO rolls tasted EXACTLY like the restaurant ones, though they certainly didn't look very good (I need some serious practice rolling sushi!) The sushi rice recipe was easy to follow and all of the steps are very straightforward. The biggest issue I think is that it is a bit time-consuming but I expected that when making sushi - it's not something I'd do every day. We also found that we had to follow the instructions by the letter to ensure we got the best results - it was really worth buying all of the suggested ingredients and not taking any shortcuts. The great thing about this book is it isn't just sushi recipes, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the noodle dishes which we would be able to make more often. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Appealing recipes, clear instructions
This book demystifies complicated looking dishes making them achievable for people to make at home. The instructions are clear, with good photos to help you make beautiful sushi - with practice! Our first few tries were messy but fun (and the results were no less delicious). It's become a lot easier after a few tries. There are loads of recipes in the book; not just variations on sushi, but also a very good mix of vegetable, fish, meat, noodle, rice and sweet dishes too. Recommended highly for someone with an interest in food - and patience.

Great cookbook.
If you enjoy Yo, or even just sushi, you'll like this book. The first eight pages or so give useful information about Japanese food basics. Each item gets a few easy to read paragraphs so you're not overcome with information. It even gives simple techniques like how to cook sushi rice. The next 14 pages show techniques like how to cut fish for sashimi and sushi, and how to make tempura. Each technique covers two pages and six photographs. The recipe pages are nicely laid out with a good number of high quality pictures. The methods are easy to read and the couple I've so far tried were easy to follow. I don't have a specialist food store nearby, but have so far managed to get all the ingredients at my local big supermarket.

Disappointed, favourites are not found in this book
I love Yo Sushi hence the reason why I bought this cookbook. I thought the different recipes on the sauces and how to make them was very clear and easy to follow. The pictures and step by step process on how to cut different types of meat is great. However, I was hoping to see more photos and ingredients of different sushi/nagiri/onigiri/Imari/desserts in this book. I thought there was quite a few of salad ingredients which is not really something I'd like to see in a cookbook. I hope they can include more desserts that they usually serve in their restaurants, like mochis and matcha cakes. I'm disappointed as I won't be using most of the recipes from this book but if you want to learn what are the basic Japanese ingredients and how to cut different types of meat this would be a great reference to use.
