You try making this for the price!
I wore this on a Granite Mountain hike yesterday for the first time. Glad I chose LG. It does sit down against my crown. The netting clearly ventilates. I have to wonder at some negative reviews here. Really folks? You try making this hat for the price! As someone who sews ... I can tell you it's amazing for the price ... and I don't look like Minnie at last!!! Thank you.

You get more than what you pay for.
Remember this is a $9 hat. Now that being said I got this hat for sun protection. I work outdoor all day almost every day. The color has faded ALOT, but it still does its job. I work 6 days a week, 10 to 12 hrs a day, all in the sun. I love this hat and would recomend it to anyone! Does it fade, of yes the color on top of mine is almost gone. Will the buttons rust if wet, well yes but again $9 hat.But will it protect your head and neck all day from the sun YES!

Mostly pretty satisfied with this hat right out of the shipment
I bought the "Light brown", which is the same as the "Khaki solid", but with a mesh-sided crown. Side ordered: XL, because my noggin is not huge, but I rarely fit into women's hats -- I'm probably a 7-1/2 or 7-5/8 (60cm), so I erred on the side of too big vs. too small.Hat color looks pretty true to the picture, a nice darker khaki.Hat arrived flattened but not folded. It seems like there's cardboard in the brim to give it stiffness, so I probably will not fold it. The brim isn't lying flat right now; but I think with an iron set to "steam" that I will be able to easily remedy that and make the hat look sharp.Note: the piece of fabric that hangs down in the back to protect the neck/whatever isn't removable. I guess you could roll it up inside the hat, but doing so doesn't look/feel great. So I cut mine out, and I'm going to do a quick series of stitches to make sure any remaining hanging cloth stays tucked up inside the hat and looks tidy.I put out a lot of heat through the top of my head, especially when hiking, so my main concern was to get a hat that could both shade my face and allow my head to 'breathe'/sweat. I've been wearing it around, nothing too active yet, but it's been pleasantly lightweight and breathable so far. (We'll see after a couple weeks of warm weather!)Note: one seam on the side of the hat has about an inch of loose/unraveling stitching. Since I already plan to do some stitching to fix the remnants of the cloth, it's no big deal to fix that for me, but if I wasn't handy with a needle, I would be annoyed to see that.Chin strap is decent length, but doesn't have anything to keep the slider button from falling off the end. I've tied a knot in mine to prevent myself from accidentally yanking it off the string. For $8.99, I think it's a great price for a hat that I hope will see me through warm weather on vacations (or as needed in daily life). Hat looks good and fits better than most similar hats I've tried on in various shops.

GREAT SAFARI HAT
This hat arrived exactly as advertised and exactly what I wanted for a major summer hike. Light weight, the sides are mesh and the top solid. I wear a 7 1/2 and my head measures 22 inches. The large fit almost perfectly. Extra large would have been too loose and the medium probably too tight. I have read a few negative reviews but I found my hat decently constructed, both sides can fold up and snap, and the back flap was evenly cut and of good length. Great sun protector for the price.

If you just want a hat to wear a hat, then this is fine.
If you want a hat you can actually get use out of, look for something else.Yes, the hat is, shall we say "frugal," but it's really not worth it if you're looking for something you can use, sweat in, wash, and still expect it to not look like absolute crap. The good is that if you're sweating hard on that hike, the sweat just doesn't soak through the brim right away and the neck covering isn't bad as long as it doesn't start sticking to your neck if it gets wet.The bad is, that once you try and wash this hat-just by hand with water mind you--it turns into a wrinkly, limp mess. I have better wear and tear from my baseball style caps with cardboard brims. The one I typically wear has been hand washed dozens of times and still holds it's shape (it's just too heavy for summer hikes). And no, it wasn't expensive either. So if you're not going to put the hat through some paces with wet weather and washing, if you just want a hat on your head, then this might be okay. Still, I think you could do better for a few extra bucks.

GREAT VALUE!
I ordered extra large, which is a tight fit, but I can live with it. My wife prefers it to other hats I use. Men who are married KNOW what that means! It's machine washable, although the manufacturer doesn't so specify. Great protection from the sun. When it's cold, the neck flap does protect the ears somewhat. When the neck cord and neck flap aren't needed, they tuck away inside the hat. I liked the first one so much I ordered a second for "good."

UPDATE to Delivered flattened and roller up!
The vendor contacted me after reading my original poor review to let me know Amazon sent me a counterfeit hat. I did not receive a hat manufactured by JFH Group as ordered. The vendor offered to send me a replacement authentic hat. After receiving the hat I can see that the JFH hat is superior. You can see too in the attached pictures. Notably, the JFH hat has finer stitching, the brim has a reinforcing yet flexible board to help keep it's shape, the pipe of the hat is also reinforced, the hat material is not all wrinkly (I ironed the counterfeit hat but that didn't help at all), and the size is more appropriate for XL.I applaud the vendor. A great value. A fine product. I change my rating from 1 to 5 stars.

Very nice for the price
Excellent quality, nicely sewn, looks like it should last a long time. I wear size 7 3/8 so I ordered large and a large is a little bit too big for me. Many people commented that the hat runs smaller but mine certainly did not. With the neck flap tucked in the fit is just about perfect. If you work in the garden, go to air shows or little league games this is a great way to keep the sun off your face and neck.
