I bought this to put in goodie bags for my 10 year old twins birthday party. I wanted something cool that kids would keep instead of the cheap crap that normally people put in those bags that usually gets thrown out. My boys LOVE rocks and gemstones and these were small but great quality! We had plenty for the 10 bags that came with it! We actually had one extra child come (a sibling of a child invited) and there was plenty left after making the 10 bags to make her a little ziploc with some rocks in it. The only thing that would improve it is if the little bags were a bit bigger and if a rock identification guide came with each bag. There is only one guide for all 10. So I just color copied it on my home printer and it came out fine. :)

This is a really great kid friendly birthday party kit. The kids ages 8-14 got really excited to see this fun activity at my grandson’s birthday party. It was a huge hit! The National Geographic name attached was added bonus. Great quality and learning activity. I put stones on a tray and read the descriptions and the went wildly rummaging looking for their favorite rock to keep. Kit has plenty of stones to keep everyone happy. There was enough to go around a few times.

Got for my 9 yo son for Christmas and he loves it! He is very big into collecting rocks at the moment and was thrilled with the samples and the information included.

Good for an activity at a kid party

A good selection of stones, a mix of fun and education in a box. It was like a treasure hunt for kids to fill in their pouches.

I got this for a treasure hunt I am doing for my nieces and nephews. I like how there are large pieces of fool’s gold, desert rose, quartz points, tiger’s eye and pumice and that there are ten bags and an information sheet for those bigger rocks. My main issue is with the polished rocks. They are tiny! Thankfully, there is a variety of them, and the kids will still think they are neat, but for the money, i would’ve liked the set better with larger (even if there are fewer) polished rocks.

My sons collect rocks everywhere they go, this was utilized for a birthday party. It was a hit for everybody, now my other son is requesting to have the same thing at his party even though he has his own little party bag of the rocks. The selection was phenomenal and everything was packaged nice and neat, the little pouches were perfect.

I bought this item for my grandson for his Christmas present. He has taken interest in Geology, so I thought this might be ideal as a starter. When I received it, I was excited. I know he will enjoy it immensely.

Comes with so many rocks. So many things to learn and the bags are beautiful little gift bags if you do a party there’s 10 of everything and then a big bag of polished rocks. Absolutely wonderful for anyone to ‘discover’ and become educated on so many different rocks.
