Garmin DezlCam 785 LMT-S: Advanced 7-inch GPS Truck Navigator with Built-in Dashboard Camera (Renewed)

This is a great GPS, the refurbished unit was several hundred less than new and we took a chance but did add a 3 year amazon warranty just in case. The unit looks new, if you look hard you can see a few minor scratches beside the usb connection. The camera came with Micro SD cards for both the GPS & Camera.The forward warning and lane assist features work well and have came in handy. We use this in a 10ft tall Ford Transit commercial van. The dash cam quality is decent, but not as good as a cheaper off brand dash cam that we have in another van. That being said its nice to have everything in one unit without cluttering up the windshield and 12 volt ports.GPS updated well to the latest maps and has worked well. When you first turn it on occasionally it will reboot as others have said but its easily resolved with turning it back off and on again. It stays on and works fine for the rest of the day. Its an Android device and having had a few of these over the years the rebooting is just what they do.Overall its a nice big GPS with some nice features. Of course its not Google maps and sometimes you have to alter a route. However in the middle of no where with no cell service this GPS will continue to work where other data based devices will not.If you do service works and need a way to track vehicles without monthly fees or just want a nice GPS for such use than this will do the job.

Works ok but doesn't reroute. 1 place I was delivering to in IL was an open field. The actual location was @ 1/4 Mile away. I passed on by when I realized it was the wrong location expecting to be rerouted. Instead it said you have arrived & stopped navigating. It usually takes you the shortest (not easiest) route to where you're going. 15-20% of the time it can't find the address. I can find it on Google maps which isn't for Semi Trucks but not on this. I end up using Google maps & just have to pass the no truck roads while it reroutes. If it found the places more often & rerouted if you pass the place it would be way better!

When you receive this unit be sure to update immediately before using, it connects to hotspot and will download the updates.

I bought a navigation it worked for a week and then couldn't get the satellite signal, reset didn't help. Return and order another one, the new one was defective from the box, couldn't get the signal as well. I requested a replacement. Replacement navigation work fine with only one problem, it didn't record the video, tried three different SD cards. Formatted the cards and they all showing as an external storage but did not work for the recording. Three out of the three failed, going for the trip tomorrow and planning to return the last one.

I love the " voice command " so much easier than typing addresses, the magnetic mount is excellent. The built in Dash cam frees window from needing yet another tool. Speaker is plenty loud and screen plenty big enough. I was using the Rand McNally for past 5 years and find I. Like this considerably better. The price of this remanufactured unit is about half what new or McNally would cost. Only thing Is that MAP updates take about 2 hours and would recommend using a computer and USB because if your WIFI quits will leave you without any map data and will start over again from the beginning.

So far, not impressed. This is my 4th garmin I have owned over the years and it seems the homework on the 785 lmt-s was incomplete. This unit restart at least 6 times on first start up and a few times during the day. Lost traffic and weather for almost a full day even though phone and and gps said connected. Read through all faq and done what was suggested but no help there. Phone and gps also updated. Hope this helps.

I have owned Many Garmin Products and this is my First Truck version. I have a Rand McNally 540 and the Garmin blows it away. I love having my voice recognition as the mcnally you can only input it manually. I also like the fact that the Farmin has a car mode so it acts like a normal gps without the truck restrictions. Not to mention this thing has a dash cam built in with the capability of adding the wireless background check. The normal cost of this unit is 499.00 I believe. I got this refurbished for basically 35% cheaper and its in brand new condition.

the product is in great condition but it sucks to know that its not working and now I have to pay 99 dollars to update it through Garmin wish I would have known...
