GREAT FLAT WORK/EAT SURFACE - sturdy, durable, firm grip
Heavier and sturdier and more durable than I expected!!!!! Great! Very handy and love it! Have had it over a month and used it a lot! Ordered one for my son in law as he was also impressed. Good quality - will probably outlive me! Heavy duty, has some weight to it, and durable!!! When on steering wheel it is higher than the counter top you would usually sit at, but I have no complaints! Put your seat back, your steering wheel down as low as it will go and enjoy! It is sturdy, grips very well, stays in place WELL, and provide a wonderful surface for eating in your car. While driving it easily stows vertical on the side of your seat by your seatbelt. If you wish to do any office work in your car, it provides an excellent surface for your laptop, ipad or paperwork you need to write on or fill out. Just put the steering wheel upright as it only fits on the top thinner portion of the steering wheel. If you want to try it on the bottom of the steering wheel so it's a lower surface, you will need to lower your seat and perhaps put it back a bit, raise the steering wheel, and turn the steering wheel upside down. If you want a durable great surface in your car for eating or working or even sitting and reading, this is wonderful. I don't know if all cars have fairly standard steering wheel sizes...that might be the only issue. I have a Chevy Equinox and son in law has a Chevy Avalanche and it works fine in both. Hope this helps.

Great option for those who work from their car.
I find myself sitting in the car parked for about 1 hour a day, 3 days a week. During this time I've tried using my netbook to complete work while in the car, but situating it comfortably in the car has always been difficult. Either I'm blocking all the cooling ports with my legs, causing the computer to heat up, or it's just in an awkward position to allow for efficient typing. There are a few other steering wheel laptop / desk trays out there, but none as simple as this. It attaches securely to the steering wheel using leverage and gravity. It literally takes just a second to put it on or take it off. Some of the others I've seen have clamps or levers and that's just bulky and fiddly. Depending on your steering wheel you could put this at the top of it, or the bottom of it, so there is versatility. My laptop stays put on the surface, and there are no problems with it sliding around while I type; and I'm one of those guys who types fast and hard. While I wouldn't recommend this for a full size laptop (given the narrow depth of the desk), anything around 12" should be just fine.

Empowering Introverts Everywhere!
Three to four nights per week I sit in my car, in an empty parking lot, under a parking lot light, hop on my hotspot, and work on my weekly tasks. Why? Because my kiddo is in a play and I'm the only one to drive her. Play practice is several hours long & so I use this time to knock out work that I need to catch up on. I get a lot of work done in the car, laptop on my lap. Of course the more normal thing would be going inside the theater and using one of the tables that is set up in the lobby. But...as a very introverted person, and a self-admitted social snob, I have little to no use for local friends/community. So I sit in the car. The downside to that, is the setup aggravates my carpal tunnel. So, when someone posted the hilarious product reviews for this item on Twitter the other day, I secretly added this to my personal wish list. The very next day a good friend sent me an Amazon gift card, and boy I couldn't wait to order this desk! And my reaction: I love it! This desk has been a social lifesaver for me! I have no reason to even consider working inside, alongside other theater parents: aka stagemoms/dads. I don't have to listen to so and so complain about someone's teacher/babysitter/grandparent/spouse. I don't have to listen to moms/dads swamp recipes, calorie counts, or personal trainer information. I don't have to offer to carpool just because someone offers to set up that option to "save us all time." I don't have to be involved. I can sit in the peace and quiet of my own car, and work, and work, and work some more! AND -- without wrist pain!Thank you AutoExec. You might have just saved my life. LOL

Not Intended for a 2021 F150
I'm very disappointed in this purchase! I work out of my truck as if it's an office, and I was excited when I found this item. I was confident that I had found the solution to my dilemma with completing paperwork required for my job while cramped up in the truck. Boy was I ever wrong, this DOES NOT fit a 2021 Ford F150!! The diameter of the steering wheel in the F150 is too large for the tray to fit in the way that it was intended to.

Don't know much about it
I ordered this thinking it would work for something else I needed. My genius idea didn't work, but the product was strong and my son liked it because he uses a laptop when working on his construction job. So I gave it to him to use in his truck. My son is going to make something to use with my problem, and I guess I should have asked him in the first place. But no reflection on the steering wheel desk. If you need one, it should be a good buy.

Almost
2017 Jeep Cherokee steering wheel is just a little bit too thick. This is made out of a very nice thick material and is very sturdy. Unfortunately the hole routed for the steering wheel is just a little too small which tilts the near edge up, causing instant wrist strain. It doesn't stick out very far from the steering wheel which is nice for getting in and out, but after it quick test fit I knew I had to send it back. The black desk you see for comparison is very common and it is super flimsy but the hole is perfect
