Fun guide to fill in the empty time slots you might have while in london
Great review guide that shows easy steps on how to enjoy a day in london. We're going to use this book to fill in the voids of our trip. It has an easy to use format that lets you pick a random stop and tells you the quickest way to get there. also comes with a map and a special code to download an app for your phone.

Three Stars
Not the greatest guide book. I wouldn't recommend it but it's not completely worthless.

Lonely Planet guides look beautiful but the information is so sketchy. Very disappointed in this series.

Limited number of sights suggested, but a great guide if only there a day or two
If you're the type of person who loves thick guide books with lots of suggested sights along with detailed descriptions, then this guide will probably frustrate you due to the limited number of suggested sights. However, if you get overwhelmed by all the possibilities or only have a day or two in London, then this guide will be very helpful. I haven't gone to London, but I have traveled abroad several times. This guide gave me all the information I'd need for a brief trip to London. In the front, there's a map showing the locations of all the mentioned sights. Next, in a 3-panel split page format, they have 13 suggested sights for the morning (top panels), 13 for the afternoon (middle panels), and 13 for the evening (bottom panels). The sights range from museums and galleries to parks and squares to palaces, abbeys, and other historical buildings. At night, they suggest various types of shows and a pub. For each sight, they explain what it is, the hours they're open, the cost, the location, and a nearby place to eat. It also shows how long it'll take to get from one sight to the next using their suggested mode of transportation (including walking). In the back, they describe the methods of getting around the city and how to pay for them. They also give some cultural greeting tips, tipping information, and include a city map.

Good but...
The map was the best part of this book. It's a good book to start your London planning but I wouldn't make it the only one.

If you do days like they suggest you''ll end up exhausted
This guide only serves to know the "name" of the attractions. If you do days like they suggest you''ll end up exhausted, specially if you go visit over the summer. I know you "don't have" to do everything, and I didn't do it. However, you should consider that when you buy it (as many other reviewers had said).

Great innovation for travel booklets
Maybe I'm overstating it but this little day-planner type binder book feels like a game changer in the guidebook area. My wife and I travel a good deal and despite the fact that most information is now available online, I always buy a travel book before we go somewhere new - they're easy to carry around, they pack a lot of information into one place, and you can always use the internet to supplement something that sounds interesting in the book. But those books can sometimes be cumbersome to carry around with you, or to flip through when you're looking for specific info. This new layout manages to pack in just the information that you really need from a guidebook - a list of places/buildings/things to do along with a paragraph-long blurb to go with it. Even better the items are grouped by "morning," "afternoon" and "evening" so that you can choose an item from each category and mix-and-match like those "head," "torso" "feet" kid's books. But the information isn't just limited to descriptions of the locations (museums, theatres, clubs, etc.) or events (theatre, river tours, etc.), each card also has a key that tells you how far your next event/location is from your first. There is also a restaurant choice suggested for each event. In the back there is a large foldout map that can be folded out while still remaining attached to the booklet and then a few pages of helpful information about transportation, phone numbers, money and other important travel tips for London. And then there are a few blank pages for your own notes. For short vacation trips this is an ideal booklet - and much easier to carry than a "standard" book.
