Some reviews refer to "back support poles". Are these poles metal? May not be allowed in football ground if yes.

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to sit cross-legged on this or do the straps get in the way?

Yeah, it's perfectly possible even if you sit "normally", but I guess it depends on big your bum is, (i.e. how "high" you "sit"), and how long your legs are....but it's feasible that whatever your size, you could simply adjust how high you hold your knees/thighs up.I hope that helps.

Why is this seat specifically for men? Do they have completely different bottoms to women that need a completely different type of seat??

I much prefer a ladies bottom aesthetically speaking; but always use my own (male) bottom to sit on. I’ve been told ladies can sit on theirs too in this type of chair.

Can you sit in this chair? As in, does it sit on the floor like a chair with no legs? ie can you use the backrest? Thanks

Yes, you can sit in the chair and lean back against the backrest. When you sit on the ‘under part’ of the chair with your buttocks and legs, it creates enough weight so that when you lean back against the backrest, the straps on the side pull tight, which in turn keeps the backrest upright for you to lean against. I’ve used it all summer so far and loved it!
