Impressive
I installed this amplifier for a friend to replace a 20 year old Altec-Lansing that at the time was the only amp small enough to fit in the space he had available without overheating. When I installed car audio as a profession A/B Class amplifiers this compact would only be good for around 20 watts and used on tweeters and the few D-Class amplifiers on the market were more than an iPhone 7 and delivered only around 50 watts...and were still WAY bigger than this Kenwood is. I've seen names change ownership through the years and was not surprised to see made in China on the packaging although I was a bit puzzled why a Japanese company would use China to make its goods. I only hoped the Kenwood quality was unchanged. Installation was simple as the power connection terminals were the common screw type found on nearly every amp brand at some point. The speaker connections are two bonded 16ga wires to form one robust +/- speaker lead. It has a wide range low pass xover (50-200hz) and ample gain control that allows from 0.2 to 4 volts line level input. The unit used a 30 amp mini ATM fuse which calculates out to about the 300 watt continuous output it claims. My friend still had the JL Audio 8 inch sub we installed in a sealed box, tuned to about 50hz. There was no bass boost on the old amp so we used a small external equalizer and kept it in place with the Kenwood install. After some volume and crossover adjustments we put it through about an hour of favorite listening tunes at volumes loud enough to earn a dirty look from a nearly neighbor. I forgot to measure the db level but in all it operated at an output level that would have easily heated up an A/B amp to the point of being too hot to touch for where we installed it, behind the seat with carpet all around it. After all of that it was only slightly warm. Bass was good, tight and clean the entire time, no headlight dimming, no turn on thump or engine noise. My friend liked it and wants another for his wife's car and I'm thinking of using one in my own car now. I definitely recommend this amplifier for anyone wanting a simple, effective system upgrade.

Great power, and sound in a very small package.
I love this little amp! It is a solid performer with built in low pass crossover adjustment as well as a sensitivity adjustment. It does a terrific job driving my two 10 inch subwoofers at 2 ohms and it has barely gotten warm. This is a very small amp, you should have no trouble finding a spot for it, it is smaller than a toddlers shoe box. It barely gets warm at all, I would have no problem installing this under a seat in a car and forgetting about it.The sound is clean and pure. I played tracks I've listened to for decades and they sounded terrific.

Great Amp
I installed this to power an old Rockford Fosgate 10" subwoofer I had layng around and put it in my saab vert. Not looking for or expecting to rattle neighbors windows, just wanted to take the bass responsibilities off of my 4 Infinitiy Kappa's that were sounding a bit muddy. Happy to say this amp powers the subwoofer with ease and really fills in the bass. Just what I was looking for. Yes you can feel it but not obnoxious. The Kappas are once again sounding bright and clear now that I'm only asking them to push 120hz+. I was a bit concerned because of the size - but really happy with this unit. Size is a bonus as I did not have a lot of trunk room and this sits in the corner right behind my 4 channel Pioneer that is handling the other speakers.

Small and Mighty!
Gone are the days when you needed large amps and wasted space to produce big sound. I am using this amp to push a slim mount SKAR 12 wired at 2ohms and it sounds great! I mounted the the amp and a 4 cahnnel kenwood in the small storage space behind the passenger seat in a 1978 Corvette. I now have an amazing sound system with minimal space used.

Nice Power, Fits Anywhere
Good power for its' size. You're probably planning to use it for a sub or center channel speaker. Be sure to notice that it puts out only 200W at 4 ohms. I used it to power a Skar 8 inch sub and it does OK with the sub set for 2 ohms. Not a powerhouse but fits a lot of places, looks good, and works well. I will probably upgrade to more powerful amp now that my sub is broken in. Comes with wiring harness that has nice, long wires.

Original title: DOA, but still optimistic
I received a replacement unit, checked all the connections and outputs, and it works very well! The bass is loud (powering my 10" Rockford Fosgate sub), the sound is clean, and the adjustments are easy. I like that it is very compact, as it was an easy replacement for the factory sub in my vehicle. I can easily make the whole truck shake, without noticeable distortion.Overall, an excellent value, and I can't imagine any reason why I would want to spend more.Original review:Got one for Christmas, but appears to be DOA. The unit powers on, but makes no noise. After testing all other components and cables from the head unit to the sub, this appears to be the problem. Will return and re-order, hope for better quality on the next one.

Much better than I expected!
Really didn't think this amp would really be powerful enough to run a decent sub, but I am really impressed that it does it with ease. I have it on a Alpine Type S 10" sub and it really motivates the sub with good clean power. Best thing is that it's in a place that doesn't have a lot of air flow and it still doesn't over heat. I just took a 5 hour drive in 90 degree heat and had the volume turned up a good amount and it still kept rocking just fine.
