L'Oréal Paris Colorista Permanent Gel Hair Dye, Long-Lasting and Vibrant At-Home Hair Colour, High-Intensity Hues with Up to 3x More Shine, Colour: Bright Red

OMG, I've just coloured my hair with the new Loreal Colo Rista BRIGHT RED, and as you can see by my pictures the colour is absolutely GORGEOUS !! I normally have naturally dark brown hair, I've used lots of different red hair dyes over the years and the new COLO RISTA is by far the BEST I have ever used. Normally as my natural hair colour is so dark the red dyes just make it go a reddish brown, and in order to ever get a real red colour I would have to lighten my hair first, HOWEVER this COLO RISTA BRIGHT RED hair dye came out so bright and bold I absolutely love love LOVE IT !!! I will always buy this from now on. No lightening your hair first, just follow instructions, 1 box contained enough dye for my long locks and I'm so so pleased with the results.The only thing i'd say was the black plastic gloves supplied were crap !! As per my pictures, they were very small and so cheaply made that they ripped when I put both gloves on, making them not really fit for purpose !! My hands were very red at the end of the dying procedure !!I still gave this product 5 stars as it is by far the BEST RED HAIR DYE I have ever used. The conditioner supplied will last for 5/6 uses after first use and make your hair so shiny and glossy.If you want a bold statement and to turn heads then buy this product, you'll be really pleased with results.My photos taken were in different day light so you can see the difference of the brightness of colour, 3 different times of the day, normal (no sunlight) then with bright sunlight, and finally at nightime with the light on.I'm looking forward to trying the other colours in the range when this one has faded.

I’ve been dying my hair for over 13 years now and have tried everything from platinum and black using Preference to Olia to XXL (and all other box dyes you can think of) but this is definitely up there with the best. Preference is still my number 1 for darker red FYI.1. The gel goes a long way - my hair is down to the centre of my back, albeit thin and had a bit leftover.2. I chose to top up my existing red which had grown out to a lovely, uneven ginger - corona laziness - and the colour is vibrant, even (pic is shadowed and doesn’t do it justice) and shiny.A few words of warning however.. firstly, this dries your hair out more than your average dye so I recommend using a good quality, colour protecting deep conditioner as a follow up, leave it in for hours if you have the patience.Secondly, the box recommends using a bit of its conditioning to protect your hairline/skin and although this dye doesn’t stain your scalp as much as some (XXL still haunts me for this) I would recommend using Vaseline if you’re prone to this issue.Thirdly, it may have just been me but the ammonia in this dye seems strongly than others so make sure you’re keeping up the ventilation as you would do usually.Lastly, this gel lathers on contact with water so DO NOT be tempted to wet your hair before hand and ABSOLUTELY lather it before washing out, makes life a lot easier.You will see other comments stating this dye stains surfaces, my response to that is of course it does.. it’s dye.. if you’re prone to spillages, don’t protect your surfaces and the idea of this puts you off then please don’t ever dye your hair at home.

Looked into the mirror after washing out the dye. Totally fell in love right away with the colour.Note 1: I needed to use colour remover BEFORE I applied the red dye. That's why you see blonde-ish strands. This hair dye will not lift any colour. (I had blue and purple split dye before) Also my right side of the hair was pre-bleached. uNote 2: It is my first application on my hair. The second application will deepen the hair colour and give it more depth. So don't be alarmed by the vibrancy and colour shade. If you have pre-dyed red hair it will turn out just right for you.I did it all in one day, colour remover and re-dye. I am happy with my old/new red hair (had red hair for at least 10 years, but wanted to experiment a bit, had 1 year now and wanted to change back to red, my absolute favourite colour)I had this hair dye even without bleached hair and it was superbly vibrant. Didn't damage the hair, always felt soft and healthy. The smell was very nice and pleasant.To all the red heads and future red heads: you rock! No matter what colour you dye hair next. And give your hair love too, treat it with a nice hair mask or a nice conditioner, will you?Thank you for reading and have a lovely dye... I mean day.

Fancied a change this year (don't we all) and decided to go bright red. Tried schwarzkopf first, even gave myself some highlights but it faded very quickly. Needed a haircut so asked the salon to do it properly for me. Yes the highlights look better when done by a pro, however the colour turned orange very quickly and I didn't fancy spending £25 on topping it up every 3 weeks.Googled around and this had great reviews, so tried it out. The colour is amazing. Super bright and it lasts much longer, even though I've already put a 2nd pack on (mainly to cover up bits I missed the first time). The gloves are shit so use your own, but the conditioner lasts a while and keeps it looking good.Only drawback (with this shade at least) is that until your 3rd shampoo I'd say, it leaks on everything. I've had to wash shirts, sweaters, pillow covers and even my leather couch needed a clean because the red is everywhere. I'd recommend only wearing dark colours the first week and to cover any furniture that your head rests on with a towel to avoid ruining it.
