good
12 year old son loved. Great intro to the classic goosebump books. A quick, easy read for a preteen child

Love R.L. Stine and I was so happy to introduce him to my daughter!
When I was a pre-teen, I fell in love with R.L. Stine and his Fear Street books. I was a little too old when his Goosebump series finally came out, but figured that it would be great for the younger audience. I kept this in mind when I had two little girls, and was really hoping that at least one of them would be interested in this great author.Low and behold, after the Goosebumps movie came out, one of my daughters wanted to read the book after I explained that the movie was based off his books. We read the first one together and plan on reading all of them, in order. My daughter is only 6 but is mature enough to handle any of the "scariness" she comes across. I recommend that parents read it with their kids to see if they would be able to handle some of the things discussed (nothing like Fear Street novels). Some kids may not be into (mild) horror and may get scared, so proceed with caution if under 8 (as recommended).

Be aware of dummies
Another fun RL Stine book. As always ads a little twist at the end. One of the good books to read at Halloween time. Learn how Slappy becomes on of RL Stine's recurring characters.

My son loved it.
Great book to read to any pre-horror fans. My 6 year old son is interested in any and everything scary, but of course I have to limit what he is exposed too (all though with a 16 year old sister that’s sometimes hard to do).I read this book to him and he loved it. Just scary enough for a little guy.

Love this book, too bad it didn't become an episode
This is one of my TOP favorite Goosebumps books. Which is why I hated the fact it never became a TV episode. Then again, it did take some bold moves. One could even say this is one of R.L Stine's scarier Goosebumps books. It has an Exorcist like scene where Mr. Wood vomits green goo all over an audience, and also where he strangles a little dog, almost killing it.But that's what made this book so good, it made it even more scary and more unsettling than other Goosebumps books. Its still a great read after all these years, and the new edition is awesome.

Classic Goosebumps #1
I liked night of the living dummy because it had a very good story line of characters and supporting cast including the parents and great friends and the dummy named slowly in his first appearance in a scary book and is worth recommending

Good book for kids
I grew up with these books and just kind of got nostalgic and so decided to buy it. It's funny how the things that seemed so awesome when you were a child or much less so in adulthood. The story of a living doll spitting green slime was terrifying for me... in the past. The way each chapter ends on a ridiculous cliff hanger, not so much style anymore. I guess this book is okay for kids. I don't even know why I bought it again but I do remember that I read every single Goosebumps, Animorphs, and Fear Street ever written so I was trying to remember what was it exactly that I loved so much. As you get older you become smarter and harder to impress. So ye from a grown up point of view this book is truly meh. Then again I guess this review is kind of ridiculous right? It's like me trying to review Dr. Suess and saying that I'm not into it. This book is for truly for children or adult's that still read like children. I'm going to try reading Fear Street and see if I would enjoy it more as those were written for "young" adults.
