This PVC cutter was just what I needed to cut several pieces of 1" 40 thickness PVC to make dog hurdles. It was easy to use and did the job. I don't have much hand strength but I was easily able to cut all of the pieces of PVC that I needed. The cuts were clean and accurate. I don't know how long the cutter will last, but with my approximately 75 cutsI already got my $10 worth out of it!

Purchased during the winter. Stumbled on them looking for something else. The ones I have from one of the Big Box Stores was starting to fail & was becoming a pain to use. These were the second pair for the Big Box place. Tried two different pairs for different makers. Both acted the same. Always thought they were all kind of the same. No they are not. These are 1,000 times better than what the Big Box store sells. Ratchet works well. I keep trying to use two hands and pull them open after a cut, to get ready for the next cut. NOT NEEDED with these. With one hand they reset to the open position. Even covered with mud. The only thing I can say bad about these is the lock on the bottom is flimsy and will not last long. But I'm so used to having to pry the old ones apart, it is not an issue to me. I also do not have "little ones" to worry about either.

The tool works and the spring return on the blade is a great feature. Most other cutters like this require a manual reset of the blade. However, it doesn't cut square. Very close to it, but noticeably not. I don't think it would impact most jobs. I used it to cut 1/2" PVC and the out of square value was about 1-2mm per cut relative to the radius of the cut measured against the vertical parallel axis of the pipe. Most fittings cover for that kind of error and it won't matter. But some users may find that unacceptable. Just be aware.

This is a very easy to use pipe cutter. I have used it to cut 1/2 in schedule 40 pipe, 1/2 in PVC pipe and 5/8 in id garden hose. The ratcheting mechanism is the reason why this is so easy to use. Only requires one hand to cut pipe. I recommend this for everyone but especially for someone with weak hands.

I can't say enough good things about this cutter. I do not have strong muscles in my hands (even for a woman) so I was skeptical I would be able to cut even 1/2" PVC pipe with this. When the pipe and cutter arrived, I decided to try it before calling my brother for help. SO easy! I love the ratcheting mechanism. 3 little squeezes and the pipe was cut - cleanly, easily and with very little effort.

This is the second set I had to buy. Blade broke. Would like to find where I can just buy the blades

Solid construction, easy to use - but a cutter is really only as good as its blade. And the blade on this one is quite bad. Or at least the one I got was. 3rd cut of a schedule 40 PVC pipe and the blade just chipped apart. Photo attached. It only came with one. I am loathed to try and buy new blades for it unless the ones at my local hardware store will fit it. As little as I need it - it should have lasted a while. Amending this review: I took this apart to dump the metal at a local recycling center. In the process discovered that *if* you actually wanted to replace the blade - that is not at all easy. It is a large part of the tool and difficult to take out. Probably more so to put a new one in. Cutting blade is complete junk. Hopefully whatever this metal may be recycled into will be more useful.

Lo utilizo mayormente para cortar tubo PVC y funciona muy bien. Lo recomeindo.

Easy way to cut poly pipe

The product works perfectly. Just not sure what its life will be as the quality of the materials is not the best. That being said at the price I have no complaints
