It's hard to find a lower wattage like this one. It still does a good job, but it gives us 500 watts we can use somewhere else. Sometimes with the original 1500 watt unit, having the refrigerator on park power then turning on the microwave or air conditioner will sometimes cause the park circuit breaker to flip off. Using this unit solved all that.

Worked perfectly

Not for use in a water distiller. I used it in the boiler tank of my dol-fyn water distiller, it lasted only 4 days. I learned that when the clean distilled water reservoir gets full, and the float tells the water distiller to shut off, it continues to boil the tank almost completely dry. This heater is smaller than the factory original and when the water level gets too low, one side of the heater gets exposed to the air. It immediately overheats and burns out. Now I know why the factory original part costs $60. This little heater worked great, and if it was installed in a small on-demand water heater, it would work perfectly. Just don't try to use it in a distiller.

Great product reduced my 1,400-watt heating element to this new 1,000-watt. Works perfectly. Also, the original heating element was causing a lot of heat. * make sure when filling the RV tank to use 3 filters set up coming into the RV to reduce contamination of water hard lime. * I use a 1-micron 1st stage then 2nd stage 0.5-micron 3rd filter 0.2 micron This will keep all your plumbing lines & fixtures sinks, toilet, plus water heater clean of debris Only use Pure Sine Wave Inverter if you're on solar. 1 hour 10 minutes to heat 10 gallons of hot water from my Atwood GC10A-3E water heater.

Smaller wattage than the original (1000w instead of 1440w) but water gets just as hot, just takes a little longer. Should last longer and get less mineral build up. It screwed in and does not leak.

A switch failure caused a fire (and potential loss of the RV) in the original water heater in my RV. The switch shorted on the metal frame causing the wiring to overheat, igniting the styrofoam jacket. Fortunately I was in the RV and was able to extinguish the fire saving my dogs and the RV. Not wanting to take any chances, I installed a new water heater. The components in these units is marginal at best. To reduce the load I replaced the stock 1440 watt element with this 1000 watt element. I have not noticed any difference in the hot water supply and feel safer with the lower power draw and reduced stress on marginal components.

My 1400w unit worked fine, I wanted a lower temp unit to remove the amps from the line. The first install it leaked on testing. The oring supplied is 25% thinner then the old one, i slipped the old one ont it and then the new one, doulbed it up and was leak free. I also installed the adjustable thermostat in conjunction with, they copliment each other well.

Installation is easy as long as you have the proper socket or configuration of wrenches.

Replaced our 220 volt water heater elements with these so that we can run our full-size (60 gallon) 220v water tank from a 110v power source. Works fantastic, I'm sure the water takes a little longer to heat up with the half-power elements, but they were a direct-fit replacement and we've never noticed a difference in functionality. Still going strong months later.
