This is the worst purchase I’ve ever made on Amazon! Unbelievably cheap product— don’t even know if it is safe to use. It could be a fire hazard. The electrical cord is less than two feet long and is very thin. It comes with no instructions, yet the box says to remove black plastic cage that surrounds the inner wires before cleaning dead bugs from inner wires with a small soft brush that is not included. After finding a very small brush such as a toddler’s extra soft tooth brush or a tiny short bristled artist’s brush, one has to take out six screws from this soft plastic enclosure in order to remove it. Once clean, hold the two halves of the enclosure around the lamp with one hand, and with other hand replace and tighten with a tiny screwdriver the six screws. What a poor design! More trouble than it’s worth—and it’s not worth much. Just ridiculous! A waste of money.

Just don't. I cannot express this enough. A 2-foot cable, construction using dollar store plastic, a dim, useless glow of ultraviolet light, those are the things that await you. Simply put, if you want to waste your money, go right ahead. I'm 90% sure that the 5-star reviews are bots that Amazon has let slip through. Amazon really needs to flag this product as a simply false advertisement or just take this down completely. Don't buy it. I know that most times, you'll read these reviews at the 1-star level and just say to yourself, "Oh, that is an isolated event" or "Nah, it can't be that bad" or "What could it hurt, it's only a $20.00 - $25.00 dollar purchase, if it's truly defective, then it's not a huge loss", but trust me when I say this... This is honestly a scam, a fraud, a true representation of false advertisement. I'm actually having it sent back right now via UPS to get a refund. Just save yourself the hassle, listen to myself and the other kind ladies and gentlemen within this review section, and do not buy it.

At the time I purchased this bug zapper, the product had a great overall rating based on 150+ reviews, and if memory serves correctly, it might have also been listed as a best seller or an "Amazon's Choice" product. Well, the reviews must have all been fake, because they appear to have been removed and the product re-listed. Unfortunately, I didn't check before ordering, but a quick search on a fake review-analyzing site seems to confirm that this company posts fake reviews. Either way, on to my review: I have always stayed away from investing in a bug zapper because they tend to kill mostly beneficial insects that are attracted to UV light (unlike mosquitoes), but I decided to give this one a try because it allegedly attracts mosquitoes by giving off carbon dioxide. The favorable reviews made me excited that I might have finally found the solution to reducing the number of mosquitoes that surround my backyard pond...I wasn't looking for a whole-yard solution, just wanted to reduce the number of mosquitoes in that area so I could actually enjoy the pond at night. I ran the zapper from dawn to dusk for two nights to try it out. At worst, I figured that even if the co2 claim was bogus, it would surely kill some moths or beetles or something. To my surprise, though, not only did it not kill any mosquitoes, but it failed to kill a single insect at all! Disappointed, but not deterred, I re-checked the bulb to make sure it was working, and confirmed that it was (the light is pretty dim, though, and I now doubt it would do much to a bug of any size other than providing it with a nice leg massage). I then tried the zapper out overnight in a different location, but the result was the same. After three nights, I'm giving up and requesting a refund. If I could give this product zero stars, I would.

This product is absolutely worthless. It is too small, weighs maybe 1/4th pound, and has an electrical plug on a very short cord. You must use an extension cord to hang it from an overhang or beam. If left on a table top it is very easy to knock over, the wind made it falls over. No weight at the bottom to hold it down. The light is very small and I presume not very effective. I bought 2 of them, one for our home near the ocean and another for our home in the mountains. I like to sit out on the patio in the evenings and was hoping for the protection from the bugs, I have the zappers for 5 weeks and haven’t heard one zap. Very disappointing. I plan to return these items as soon as I can back to the mountain house to retrieve the one I left up there.

Does not work. I was bitten multiple times by mosquitoes sitting next to device. No registered kills in 5 days. returning device.

I’ve seen this at restaurants in Asia and it seems to work. Granted they were bigger because of the area it was covering. We had this out yesterday. It didn’t seem to be doing anything. Mosquitoes and bugs were still flying around. We’ll give it another shot.

This item is very cheaply made and I witnessed the bugs flying in and laughing at it.

This is junk! It is a plasticky cheap-piece-of-junk that doesn't work. I got bit 5 times today while standing next to it. We have tried it for over 30 days and DOES NOT WORK. Too bad I have been so busy, I missed the deadline to return it. It came with instructions that are only worth a good laugh. Everything is done 'cheaply' on this product. Throw you money out the window, and you'll be investing better than you would if buying this piece of junk. I hope I have been 'strong' enough for you to save your money and for Amazon to withdraw this product from their offerings. Thanks...
