A 6 pound bag is perfect for a grill. I use a char broil infrared style grill but adding the lava rocks makes it much better. However the lava rocks are small and it would be better if they were larger in size. Because I cannot purchase lava rocks locally anymore I bought them on an Amazon the only size I could find were the small rocks. They do do the job but it requires more rocks and a longer time to heat them up to grilling temperature. I would purchase these again Just be aware that you will use a little more gas to heat up the rocks to inappropriate temperature for grilling.

They will do the job. They are rocks, so as far as rocks go, they are okay.

Ordered this product to enhance the look of our new DIY gas fire pit. The box was heavy and was somewhat disappointed by the quality of small less than one inch lava rock to the desired larger rock. Did not press the seller to replenish with more larger rock only because my local landscape facility had the black lava rock for $5 per five gallon bucket. Got four buckets full and removed the small pea gravel size lava rock.

I'm a certified cannabis grower and I use this on the bottom of my pots to help resist root rot. After using them for a few years I've never had root rot and my plants have grown with little or no issues.

We have a small portable fore ring on our back deck. It came with mismatched and minimal lava rocks. This summer, I spray painted it with high heat black paint and added these lava rocks instead. It's beautiful!

Right kind of rock, right color, but there was a lot of rocks that were smaller that they were supposed to be. It might not be a big deal depending on the use you have for them, but for me it's not exactly what I was expecting. The packaging was awful. the bag had a lot of holes and a lot of dust coming out of the box too. I didn't realized until it was too late.

Put the rocks into a large (15 by 18) rectangular cake pan. Preheat the oven up to 450 degrees. Place your proofed and slashed baguettes onto a heated stone or a heated iron skillet. Then use a lawn and garden sprayer to quickly spray water on the rocks and with great speed, close the door to steam the baguettes for a nice crust. Be real careful to not spray the oven door glass or it may crack. Also, you can safely put them next to the element only if you shield the element from the spraying water (Perhaps you can create an aluminum foil barrier between the rocks and the element.) The heated lava rocks will create a really nice steam for any rustic breads.
