Parents must view first
This book is is a great tool for any kid, but especially ones that are on the autism spectrum. The art work helps with understanding, but parents should read the book first, privately, so not to be in shock with the illustrations. The section on internet safety needs so work, or supplemented by the parent.Get this book.

Awesome book, very informative and we love illustration
We were very pleased with the format of this book. My son was very interested and actually opened up about his change and whay he is feeling. This is very hard for him to do because of his Autism . I recommend thus book for all boys going through puberty and parents trying to speak on the matter without vulgarity in it.

A subtle way to introduce “the change” for a tween
My son is 11, high functioning autism, and keeps this on his desk in his room. As a single mother without a father figure for him, the whole song and dance of discussing all the things that come along with puberty was awkward and we both didn’t want to have those conversations. The pictures in this book are not graphic or scary to my son. He only keeps things on his desk he holds near and dear, so if my autistic son approves of this book, yours may too. Would not suggest for a teenager as it is very “cartoon-y”. But it does explain all of the puberty thing very well. I’m happy I found this book for my son! It’s been very helpful.

I think the book has some good information for autistic boys about puberty and how to ...
I requested this book because I substitute teach in middle school and often in a classroom with boys with autism. I think the book has some good information for autistic boys about puberty and how to dress and how to interact with other people. I don't think we could have it in the school since there are some graphic drawings that would be objectionable in a school setting.

Excellent boom
Great book. There are drawn pictures of body parts which some might have a problem with, but the context is excellent. Great information, organized in an accessible way.

geared more toward 9 to 11 years old
My child has Asperger's. He just turned 13. He read the book and said he did not learn anything he did not already know. I had already explained a few things to him so apparently I filled him in on the major items discussed in the book. I do like that topics were handled with dignity and nothing was objectionable. As a single mom, I would highly recommend this book for perhaps a 9 or 10 year old since they generally have sex education (hygiene class I believe they call it now) in 5th grade.
