Keeps doors open!
This door stop is amazing! I had a bathroom door that wouldn’t quite stay open. This might be a foundation issue but this door stop fixed the issue immediately. Very easy to install, and the magnet is strong! It makes a very quiet click sound when the magnet makes contact and is a strong hold. Would definitely recommend for anyone with a door that won’t stay open.

OUTSTANDING
Normally I wouldn't take the time to review something like these- but they have truly amazed me and I just have to say something. They are AWESOME. I have a 3 car garage with a side entry and rear entry door. I spend a lot of time working in the garage and for years have used paint buckets to hold the doors open. Ghetto for sure I know. If I dared to forget or skipped the buckets in a hurry the slightest breeze would slam one or both the doors. In fact the side entry door slammed so hard once it broke the porch light mounted on the wall next to the door. I was on Amazon looking for something else one day and it randomly showed me this product. Honestly I had never heard of magnetic door catches till I saw the ad for these. I had tried the little wedges but they damaged the rubber seals on the bottom of the doors and weren't quite tall enough so they didn't hold the doors firmly anyway. These magnetic stops are great for a few reasons. They look sleek and modern. They are super easy to install. (I used the foam tape and screws for extra strength.) They hold the doors firmly and with authority, and they release very easily. My doors are metal so the provided screws did not work for me- no biggie I just used #10 self tappers on the door side and #10 modified truss head 1 1/2" screws on the wall side through the 5/8 sheetrock and into the bottom plate of the walls. No one in the reviews seems to mention it but these are spring loaded and I found you don't have to just yank the door to release the magnet. With the door held open if you give it a short rapid push even further open the magnet releases with no effort at all. Seriously- just a quick short press on the door and it pops right open. I love it. Such a simple product under 10 bucks for 2 has made me very happy and works awesome. I feel silly for not looking into these years ago. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Excellent product; easier to use than expected
I was a little hesitant to purchase these. I was worried about the durability of the sticky tape adhesive and how well it would stand up to the pressure of separating a strong magnetic seal. My fears were unfounded. BOTTOM LINE: Many reviewers mentioned how strong the magnetic connection is between the two pieces. And it is strong. I was worried that repeatedly breaking that connection would put stress on the adhesives and cause them to peel away. I read that adding a few layers of tape between the magnets makes it easier to break the seal. While that is true, I’ve found it to be unnecessary. The magnetic seal is very strong when you’re holding the pieces and trying to separate them. But when they’re installed and you’re breaking the magnetic seal by pulling on the doorknob, the seal is much easier to break. The torque being applied to the adhesive pads is much lighter because it’s not being applied directly. MY USE CASES: I have two basement doors that won’t stay open. One is a hollow core door into a small office. I’ve been using a slide-in door stop but I really dislike having to bend down and remove it from under the door. And that style doesn’t protect my newly finished walls from the doorknob. So I was looking for something that would hold the door open but be easy to stop holding the door open 😉 and protect the wall from the door handle. It was also important that the solution not hold the door open too wide (narrow door into small room) and not require me to drill a hole into my new LVP floors. This door stop is just the ticket! I used the adhesive to affix both sides of this doorstop. I put the small end on the floor and the longer arm on the door. This placement maximizes the door opening space yet still protects the wall from door handle damage. This should also minimize any structural damage if I ever decide I no longer want a doorstop there. My second door is a solid 6-panel door into a walk-in closet. It is placed much further from the wall than the previously mentioned door so it swings open wider and meets the wall at an acute angle. I didn’t want the space behind the door to be unusable (nothing long poking out from the baseboard or stuck to the floor. I also didn’t want a metal arm sticking out of the bottom of the door where it might hit someone or something. So I’ve decided to place this doorstop at the top of the door. Here the longer piece will be at the top of the door, safely out of the way. And the short end will be high on the wall just a few inches from the curtains and barely noticeable. I’ll be using wood screws and drywall anchors to install that doorstop set as soon as the walls and door are ready. The one minor issue I experienced with the adhesive pads is that you must be very, very precise when applying them to the door stop pieces because you can’t realign them. Even then, it seems impossible to get them exactly placed.

THIS THING WORKS!
This doorstop works, and looks, great! Our bedroom door (for whatever reason) would never stay fully open, so short of rehanging the thing, this was my best option. I’m so impressed with the strength of the magnet and how it looks. I used the included double-sided adhesive pads, since I didn’t want to screw into the baseboard. They work great and have held with no issues. The only thing that could possibly be a negative is the EXTREMELY STRONG magnet strength (it makes shutting the door a bit of a challenge) but if I have to choose between too strong or too weak, I’ll take the former! Very happy with this purchase.

Very nice and easy to install
Really easy to install. They fit super well. The holding power of the magnets is perfect, holds the door just enough that it won't let go of it but not so much its too much to release. The wall part has a button that takes up the pressure if you close the door too hard.

Great product, works great.
These work great to hold gate open when needed, if gate opens accidently, they hold it from slamming open and closed in windy conditions.
