The Complete Guide to Goldendoodles: How to Find, Train, Feed, Groom, and Love Your New Goldendoodle Puppy

I was very disappointed with this book, especially as I paid $20 for it!!! The quality is very poor like photocopied sheets and the black and white photos have reproduced with big blocks of black so you cant see the dogs properly. Dont be fooled by the nice glossy cover. I attach a photo of the interior.I dont think the owner has any special insight into goldendoodles. The advice is not only basic but poor. For example page 140 the whole subject of food illnesses is covered in eight lines starting,"If you think your dog is having a reaction to their food, try a different kind and see if the gastrointestinal symptoms subside." Er, I think I could have figured that out myself without buying the book!Elsewhere the advice is very general and could apply to all companion dogs. I had been looking for more specific and detailed advice about goldendoodles.

In general, I found this to be an excellent book and an easy read. It has been a long time since I had a dog, so I found the book very helpful in preparing for my adorable little puppy. But, there are two appendices that would seriously improve it.First, there needs to be a list of the supplies and equipment you need before you get your puppy. I know that it is embedded in the one chapter. But it would a simple checklist would be very helpful.Second, a developmental timeline would be VERY helpful. When should they be weaned? When do they start adult food? When do you start command training? It should be a weekly scale for the first three months. Then monthly for the first few years. And finally, annual for the rest of their lives.

They are willing to please and are safe for children.There are some things you need to know about them in choosing to have one for your family. This book guides you in where to find one, what size do you want, and what kind of care do they need?

My wife felt this book was a very good source of information for the new puppy. She enjoyed reading it and also refers back to it

Just about everything is covered in this book. Very good read! If your getting a goldendoodle then this book is for you
