Dog walks are a lot easier. Yes!
I had my doubts, but...Wow, these really work! We recently had a rain, turning to snow, turning to solid ice kind of winter storm- a perfect opportunity to put these shoe add-ons to the test. I'm extremely impressed with their effectiveness. Ice-coated sidewalks that were once hazardous and very carefully navigated during dog walks, are now more easily and more safely maneuvered. The rubber slip-ons stay firmly on my shoes, (*see photos), and the carbide spikes grip the ice for a secure feel. It's hard to believe. I will caution those who might get careless and try to hurry or run on the ice- not a good idea. You still have to be careful! Depending on how your foot comes down, if there aren't a couple spikes digging in, it feels like you could slip. Don't be lulled by a false sense of security. (Know what I mean?) Ice is ice!It takes a minute to get the rubber properly situated on your shoe, but once it's in place, you're good to go.Caution: Do not where these in the house. They'll tear up your floors.

Due North CRD-L/XL Everyday Snow & Ice Shoe Traction Aid
I've owned this cleats before when I lived and worked in Alaska. It wasn't for me because I had to wear them most of the time and taking them off and on many times. They slipped off my shoes and boots pretty easily. They wore out after a month or two of steady use. They would be great for someone who only goes from car to entrance and who lives somewhere the ice doesn't last for months. The rubber doesn't go over the toe like the ones I was trying to buy. The product doesn't show the other side so you can see how the top of the cleats look. If you buy them and decide you don't want them be prepared to pay return shipping because there is no free returns. They do make a better cleat but the prices are rather expensive.

Not worth it.
The first time I wore these (attached to UGGs), one of them fell off.

Wonderful solution for winter
Liked the ease of putting them on and taking them off. Walked with confidence and assuredness with every step on ice or snow. Disliked having to return the originals and buy a bigger size; seems they come smaller than the size chart says. Also, this tears up floors so don't put them on or take them off while standing on a finished floor indoors.

Worked very well during a CT winter
For years, I have used the Yak Trax brand of snow/ice grips. But several times during the past several years, I have fallen. A friend of mine told me about this brand so I decided to give them a try this year. We had a really bad winter here in CT, so they got a good workout. We have a very steep driveway, which gets very icy. These grips performed very well--no falls this year. As a blind person, it is extra important to have confidence on the surface that I am walking on. These grips gave me that confidence. Highly recommended.

Great Product.
Love this product. Have worn them every winter for 30yrs. I can walk right across ice covered cement or up frozen stairs without slipping or falling. Keep a pair in my car and in the house. Due North is the only brand i can depend on. Not for indoor use. These will chip your tile and put little holes in your wood or any flooring. I keep them on my boots, right by the door, on a rug.

I have found that just tying rope around my boots works as well if not better. Buy snow/ice cleats with straps
I have worn the Due Norths for two seasons now. Sorry to say, they do not stay on the feet. I have size 11 feet and wear large ugg boots. They slip off in heavy snow. I lost one. The toe section barely stretches across the toe of the boot and the sides are low so a little resistance from snow and they are off. They actually slip on ice. I have found that just tying rope around my boots works as well if not better. Buy snow/ice cleats with straps!

snow /ice cleats
I recommend these for mail carriers, the person that delivers the newspaper, and anyone else who has to get out and walk in the snow and ice. They work especially good on ice. I don't understand why ice cleats are not sold in dept. stores. More people should know about them. Be careful when you go inside. They will make you slip on tile and will damage wood /laminate flooring.
