I'm a little nutty in that I have run 2 CAT6 drops (at least) to every room in my house. We just finished the basement and i did a bunch more. This new style of crimping on the RJ45 connectors is wonderful. No more feeding in the wires and push, push, push to get it in , only to find out ti is a little too long still. Pull it out, trim, push it in, repeat until it is just perfect, then crimp. Only to find out that the wires go out of order. With this one, just push them in, pull the wires out the end, check that the cover is in enough then easily verify the wires are in the correct order and then crimp. Instead of 4 in an hour, I got all 12 done. It was so nice. One professional admin I know didn't like the idea of the ends of the wires being exposed. It doesn't' look like a problem to me (so far). At least for an amatuer this was a great improvement. The other tools also make it very easy to strip the cable cover to get it prepped. I downrated the easy to use one star because when I try to push the clip into the tool with the wires hanging out the end, they often got hung up on the blade that will eventually cut them off. so I had to pull the cable out and line up the wires and carefully aim them through the gap. Except for that, it was a pleasure to use.

This CHZHLM crimp tool kit comes with everything all well organized in a zipper case. It was 5 months before i needed to build cables for a new work laptop. I have to say that my first try was absolutely successful. The included wire tester is 9volts, battery not included. It worked like a charm. I used the yellow wire stripper and gave myself plenty of wire to feed. after separating the 4 pairs, and giving them some straightening help, I could not feed all 8 wires at the same time. But with a couple of inches of wire it was not difficult to feed it into the Cat 6 connectors going wire by wire. I paid strict attention to the color coding making sure both ends were identical. It is odd that the case is not mentioned in the description, but it is a pleasant surprise to find. Keeping everything together for the time when you need this is helpful. Two tools not in the kit that i needed. Scissors and a Wide bit wire pliar to pull the pass through wires for a snug fit. My first trims were dead on perfect. So, yeah I am quite pleased to say this is a heavy duty tool, and it works as intended.

The crimping tool is pretty nice, supports pass through and regular RJ45 connectors, which is handy for CAT6 because other CAT6 connectors are really crappy to work with. But, pass through cost more, so that is a down side. I'm also not a fan of all the blade guards for the cutters, but they are easily removed, so you can actually get your job done. Also comes in a very nice kit form.

After trying MANY kits and connectors only leaving me with frustration and anger; I finally found the perfect kit! This kit is really easy to use and the fact that this kit has the crimper AND cutter makes it really easy! No more wasted wire and wasted time. The only drawback to this kit and I don't know if all the cutters are alike but, I feel like it’s meant for a left handed person. My dominant hand has put the wire in and my left squeezes the cable down unless I use it upside down. Other then that, perfect kit!

Since I received this crimper in August I have only used it about a dozen times. Now it will not crimp an RJ45 connector evenly. Pins 1 and 5 don't crimp at all and 2-4 only crimp partially. Needless to say this doesn't make working cables. I have contacted the seller but have not received a response yet. Up until the crimper stopped working I absolutely loved the product. It has been easy to use, but should not have developed issues after fewer than 50 crimps.

This is an expensive tool and you'd expect to get what you pay for when working a project. Sadly so this product did not work from the very first cut. It does not terminate the wires completely and leaves them dangling and creates more work to remove the half terminated wires. I can not recommend this product to any body from personal experience. Please take note on what others have said about the product. It could be possible mine was just improperly made.

I purchased this tool kit to add a run for my son's room to network a new PC in their room. I also figured I could repair all the patch cables I have with broken clips. So far I have made the new run for my son's room, and repaired two patch cables, and they all work. I used the pass-thru type modular connectors years ago, and loved them with the thought one day I'll get my own, and now I finally have a set. This set was well packaged, and I am very impressed that it came in a case that I probably overlooked when I placed the order. It has plenty of connectors to get you started, but I regret I have not used the cable tester yet as I can't find my nine-volt batteries. As of this writing, I really like this set and would recommend it for the amateur hobbyist or even for light-duty jobs. If I need additional connectors, I plan on ordering from this company as the product came quickly(ahead of the predicted delivery day), was well packaged as mentioned previously, and works without issue. One caveat, make sure you adjust the black striper as the default setting will cut through the inner wires if you are stripping UTP.

I love this set of crimping tool, it has everything you need to do your job, it looks and feels strong and professional. It has a cable tester, mine worked fine, once I finished making my cable and test it. The only thing I found was that the tester seems to have a loose little part inside that rattle, I will call to see if can replace it, but it works fine.

This kit has everything you will need. I only wanted to get the pass-through crimper / cutter and figures the cable line tester would be an asset as well. I bought this set and everything else is valued to and a bonus in my opinion. The cable line tester will need a 9volt battery for power. There are enough CAT 5e and 6 pass through ends with boot covers to make your own cables or replace ends on existing cables. I used the 586-B wire configuration to make cables and replace broken tips since that’s the most common and widely used. I am happy with this purchase and it’s got more then I would need.

1. after 3-5 cat6 pass through connector, it stopped cutting the wires... 2. the screw drivers melted like butter after 3 münutes of usage, 3-5 plate installation 3. punch down tool nevr did cut the wires... but the tiny yellow tool worked fine to punch down, and i used tiny vey sharp kitchen blade to cut the wires from keystone 4. wire stripper adjustment is done through a screw embedded into plastic, and i am sure, it will be useless if you adjust it a couple of times, that part should be metal or there should be a dial button to adjust... over all, i returned after 1 day of use, i hated it... probably i will pay more and buy Klein Tools, since all the products sold are very similar and has same tools, no need to try the others...

Was impressed in the case it came in and was happy until I started crimping rj45 connectors and realized it wouldn't push all the pins in. Because of this I constantly have to redo cables until I get lucky which is not fun. Other than that I do enjoy this product.

I'v been working with Network cabling with high end networking tools in the workplace. To have this for my home and personal use, it's more than worth the price.

What can I say, this handy kit honestly has everything you need to terminate and crimp quality ethernet connections. Very easy to use and the crimper even has a pinout cheat sheet written right on the side so you don't forget! So far I've crimped 15 CAT5e connectors without issue. Everything just works!
