This lateral file cabinet is of very good quality. It is solidly constructed. The drawers, sides, top and bottom are solid. They are not thin or "tinny". The draw slide mechanism is very good; the drawers open and close smoothly Once closed the drawers remain closed. Located on the front corners of the bottom of the cabinet are two adjustable feet. These allow the front of the cabinet to be raised slightly. This keeps the drawers closed.The cabinet has a lock that functions well. Adjustable hanging rails allow the use of both 8-1/2 by 10 and legal sized hanging file folders. This cabinet is more expensive than other choices here but in my opinion are well worth the price. It arrived on the estimated delivery date. It was packed well and arrived without damage; not even a single scratch or ding.

Very light weight filling cabinet with a cheesy locking system. The lock only secures the left side of the top drawer and leaves an opening on the right side, so you can still open the drawer even when it's locked, it just feels like the drawer is "sticking", that's the locking system! I bought this to keep my paper work secure. I don't feel that I can use if for any sensative information.

Ordered this file for a one person office. Received it on Thursday (4-8-2021). The trucking company sent a truck that was too large to get to my office. Parked on the main road and unloaded onto a large pull dolly about 50 yards from my office. He did not have a small hand dolly to get it inside my office. The driver was nice enough to help me lift it up the steps and into the office. It weighs 197 pounds, I weigh 145 pounds. I unpacked the unit and got rid of the packaging. There was a lot of it. I did not check the unit as I was late for a meeting. The next day I had time to check it and noticed the top drawer was bowed inward 1 inch in the middle to 1/2 inch on the ends. The top drawer opens. The second drawer opens sometimes. The bottom 2 drawers don't open at all. Notified seller of problem. While they stated it would be replaced they expected me to repackage the unit as it was before it is picked up in about a week. The unit was defective through no fault of mine. I don't think they should expect me to bear the cost and trouble of purchasing suitable packaging. My office is in a rural area and that type of stuff will be costly in time and money to secure. I suggested they arrange to get the unit packaged to their standard at their cost and then picked up.I don't think I can lift it up to get suitable packaging under the bottom of the unit anyway. I will update once this is resolved to see if it deserves one star.UPDATE: Surprising me a replacement unit was delivered within a few days. I was not expecting it. I used the packing materials from the new unit to package the defective one. The new unit operates fine. The delivery driver was nice enough again to help me switch out the filing cabinets and assist me in repacking the defective cabinet. I think I will buy locally next time and pay for the delivery service. It will be less of a hassle I think. I will upgrade to 2 stars. The old cabinet has been here a week. It was supposed to be picked up on April 15 originally.

We have HON cabinets all over the office but we got this one because it was the cheapest and I didn't think I should care about color. Well, the color is pretty sad. It just isn't a very flattering color. I know it's just a file cabinet but this went into a backroom instead of out where it's visible. The color is very monotone and feels like the cabinet is 30 years old. But, it's a file cabinet and it does that job really well.It was packaged perfectly and arrived with prime shipping which still amazes me.

I bought this particular cabinet to match the one I already had. It is solid. The merchant shipped this item ahead of the estimated delivery date (nice!). However, it was missing the inside folder hanging rails. Good customer service. They resolved the issue promptly.
