After suffering from several refrigerator failures, it is reassuring now to know the actual temperature inside the refrigerator. These digital thermometers do that job. The display is easy to see and the white color blends well with the interior of the refrigerator. I leave them on all the time, so we'll see how long the battery lasts. They appear to be a good product. I like them.

I really like how easy these were to set up. You simply press the power button, then press another button to toggle Celsius or Fahrenheit. There's a hook to hang it from something and a magnet on the back to attach to metal surfaces. Also comes with a mini screwdriver to remove the hook if needed. Seems fairly accurate within a few degrees. The screen is a good size and easily legible. Also really love how it shows the recorded high and low temperature, very handy for monitoring something like a fridge. Only issue is that both screens had some vertical scratches that aren't really visible unless held at an angle under bright light.

No problems work correctly

We had a what seemed like a sudden failure of our fridge due to what was actually a slow leak in our compressor. Since food had stayed -- what felt -- to temp and there was nothing that really tipped us off that there was an issue, we were scrambling when we came home with a ton of groceries one weekend and found we had nowhere to puth them as everything in the freezer was thawed and the fridge was at room temp. I ordered these thermometers and had them on standby before the repair was even made. Now we *always* know if our fridge and freezer are at temp and can jump on issues before they culminate in a huge loss. We didn't even realize just how often our freezer/fridge enters a defrost cycle, until the first couple of times we observed a big dip in temp with the thermometers. These are small, clean-looking, accurate, and affordable. Just buy them.

works fine. bought it to sit on desk but it is for a refrigerator. does not seem to make any difference --- still reads the temp.

The greatest weakness of these VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers is that, unfortunately, the "Max/Min Record Function" does NOT RESET ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY every 24 hours [confirmed via email by Amazon seller (VOULOIR)] as is required in order to determine the REAL DAILY Highs AND Lows INSIDE a CLOSED-DOOR refrigerator or freezer. -- For example, cf. digital thermometers such as ASIN B004V1XJ7U or B008EN1P40 which DO INDEED record DAILY Highs AND Lows INSIDE a CLOSED-DOOR refrigerator or freezer. Consequently, one can NOT use these VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers to determine ACTUAL DAILY Highs AND Lows INSIDE a CLOSED-DOOR refrigerator or freezer. -- That is, since the "Max/Min Record Function" does NOT RESET ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY every 24 hours, then (for self-evident reasons) the VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers apparently can be used ONLY to determine/log the Min temp INSIDE a CLOSED-DOOR refrigerator or freezer over some specified/limited period of time AFTER the "Max/Min Record Function" has been MANUALLY reset by the user, especially since any logged/recorded "Max temp" will reflect the highest temperature reached while the user is MANUALLY holding the thermometer in-hand in order to MANUALLY reset the "Max/Min Record Function" and, consequently, the latter hand-held in-hand temperature will most probably almost ALWAYS be higher than the REAL Max temp INSIDE a CLOSED-DOOR refrigerator or freezer. TEMPERATURE ACCURACY All 4 VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers (labeled #1, #2, #3, and #4 in the table that's included in the attached photo) were tested simultaneously (in a sealed, temperature-controlled glass-container) against a well-calibrated, accurate REFERENCE thermometer (+/- 0.1F). The table in the attached photo shows (i) the "REAL" temperature (in degrees F) measured by the well-calibrated, accurate REFERENCE thermometer and (ii) BY HOW MUCH [in degrees F AND as a % (relative to the "REAL" temperature)] each of the 4 VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers DIFFERS [+ (higher) or - (lower)] FROM the well-calibrated, accurate REFERENCE thermometer. In the latter table, please note the SIGNIFICANT and SUBSTANTIAL temperature-DIFFERENCES over time of each of the 4 VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers NOT ONLY (i) relative to the "REAL" temperature measured by the well-calibrated, accurate REFERENCE thermometer BUT ALSO (ii) among the temperatures measured by each of the 4 VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers. Consequently, VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers seem to be (i) somewhat adequate as indicators of apparently "safe" operating temperatures within a refrigerator for temperatures above approximately 10F (i.e., there's apparently less than approximately +/- 10% error above 10F), BUT (ii) definitely NOT good enough to indicate adequately-ACCURATE freezer temperatures near 0F (i.e., there seems to be a very large temperature uncertainty of approximately +3.5F to -2.2F whenever temperatures are near 0F). For all the above reasons, I can't give VOULOIR-branded digital thermometers more than 3 of 5 STARS.
