Hi, yes any of the Naturals Salads can be used inside the Dandelion Roll a Nest, but for best results we’d suggest mixing a couple of tablespoonful’s of salad in with your pet’s usual hay and then put this into the nest when re-filling.

Q: hi, is this suitable for rats?

Short answer - no. I can say this because I bought some believing it was OK for rats - but it had rose stems in it with thorns still attached... I only leave reviews if something is absolutely fantastic or, is absolutely dreadful and / or dangerous. I was so horrified by the contents that I left a bad review about this product - I was moved to warn others. I wouldn't give it to any small animal.

Q: I'm confused by some of the reviews. Aren't rabbits supposed to eat twigs anyway so why is it a problem? Also are they still putting rose thorns in?

The twigs might not be a problem for certain animals, but the rose thorns are definitely a problem for all small animals. I don't know if they are still allowing thorns to get in the product, but I didn't buy my packet that long ago, and there were thorns in there - the pack went straight in the bin... and there's no way I would buy this product again - can't take the chance - thorns can be deadly for small animals.
