Keeps the ESC cool when running 3s for extended periods of time. Easy install when used with the right ESC.
This fits on the Velineon ESC perfectly. (it was designed for that ESC) I wouldn't try to use it on a different ESC. It was easy to hookup and we haven't had an issue. It has been installed for a couple of years. I do not know if it is waterproof but we have had it in the water and occasionally in the snow. (probably not recommended, it will rust the stock screws and bolts)I don't notice any performance difference of course and we eventually stopped monitoring the temp of the ESC because it was fine even when running 3s batteries for a long period of time. Those infrared thermometers are inexpensive and handy for RC cars.I think you only need this if you run 3s and run for a long time in the summer. (at least in Minnesota, you might need it more in the south)At first I noticed the fan sound but you get used to it. In fact it is kind of nice to hear it to know that you have it plugged in and turned on. Mine is very quiet though. I'm sure there is a less expensive way to put a fan on the Velineon ESC but there probably isn't an easier way than this.

(I haven’t had it for long, but it’s great so far!)
Fit perfectly (I made sure to buy the correct one) and so far works great! (And the car sound “cooler” when idle lol.)

Great For Lipo Battery Users
If you own a brushless version of any of the traxxas vxl series electric rc and run Lipo batteries this fan is a must have. One suggestion that would help all of you VXL owners is IF YOU PURCHASE THE BATTERY EXPANSION KIT IN A RUSTLER VXL THE FAN WILL BE UP AGAINST THE BODY SO MUCH THE FAN WILL NOT FIT UNDER THE STOCK BODY POSTS.To fix this with the Traxxas Power Cell 25C 11.1V 2 cell Lipo 4000MAH you can keep the longer battery mounting posts in the front BUT you CANNOT have the bigger spacers in the rear. You will get much better cooling if you remove the spacers and VENTILATE the body. Some users will relocate the ESC to the lower area to the right or left of the battery compartment. This is purely preference but I suggest only removing the spacers in the rear to allow proper ventilation. There is no other place I am getting this information from but my own experience.I hope this helps any of you Rustler owners.I am not sure about any of the other models. The fan does it's job and fits well on top of the ESC.No complaints other than the fact my tires are bald from all the power :)

It's cool
I bought this fan because I knew that when I bought a three cell for my slash, The ESC would be in danger of overheating. For $17, this fan is well worth the money. Not only does it keep your EFC cool, it is also very easy to install and looks like it's a part of the car. I'm surprised this fan doesn't come with every car right out of the box. If you run any kind of Lightbow in a Traxxas, you do run the risk of burning out your esc, which wouldn't be fun. I would give it five stars, but it does have a few minor issues. My main issue is that it's not waterproof, which means that I have to take it off every time I wash down my slash, or remove it when I take in the mud. I'm not worrying about it overheating in the mud or other wet terrain, since the mud will help cool down the ESC. However, it is a bit of a pet peeve and I wish they put in just the extra effort to make it waterproof. I wouldn't mind paying an extra five to $10 for a waterproof cooling fan. Another very minor problem I'm having with this van is that sometimes it glitches out. Rarely when I turn it on, it moves slowly and makes a weird noise and I have to restart the car. This hasn't been nagging problem, and very rarely occurs. Other than that, it is a must have if you plan on running your car with a lipo battery.

Works on brushless BL2S perfectly!!!
Same part number is used by Traxxas to add fan to ESC for brushless system.

Prevents overheating and prolongs playtime
Great addition, keeps the motor cool without effecting car’s performance. It’s hot in TX…100 plus degrees so a motor cooler fan is a must have to run the car more than a couple minutes.
