Nice product, pricey though

I originally got this because it's recommended to help fight fleas and ticks. However, it is great in cookies, tea, and many dishes. The product is very fresh. I recommend it, even in this size as it will have many uses. Great stuff!

Great quality and, oh my god, the quantity. The quantity. I've got so much coriander now I need a new line in my will.

Earlier, I had written that coriander seeds have numerous small advantages and no disadvantages. Unfortunately, I have now discovered 1 disadvantage. About 1 coriander seed out of every 5,000 coriander seeds contained in this product is not a coriander seed - it is a very tiny caterpillar rolled up into a spiral ball that is usually about the same size as the largest of the coriander seeds and just slightly larger than the average-size coriander seed in this product. Yes, these very tiny caterpillars are dead, dried, and motionless. They probably would have grown up to become moths that, when they are adults, would help to pollinate the coriander flowers but later would give birth to offspring (caterpillars) that feed on the delicious cilantro leaves. Expect about 5 to 7 caterpillars inside each 5-pound bag of Spicy World Coriander Seeds. Many of these caterpillars had approximately the same color as most of the coriander seeds but some of these caterpillars had a much darker (almost black) color than most of the coriander seeds. Overall, this is still a good product that will help us to live longer.Conclusion: To prevent from accidently eating these caterpillars, simply pour about 100 to 200 coriander seeds on to a sheet of paper towel and look at what you will be eating soon. If you see a dead caterpillar rolled up into a spiral ball, simply throw it away with a fork or spoon before you begin eating these health-promoting coriander seeds. About 1 coriander seed out of every 350 coriander seeds contained in this product is defective in some way (either partially rotted, a tiny hole has developed where an insect has bit it, or it is really a flower bud or another part of the coriander plant).ANOTHER UPDATE: These coriander seeds and any other crops that are bitten by insects or damaged by bad weather might very likely contain cancer-causing mycotoxins, according to several scientific studies. Mycotoxins that have greatly damaged humans include:aflatoxins, fumonisins, ochratoxins, zearalenone, patulin, citrinin, viomellein, sterigmatocystin, A. fumigatus gliotoxin, cyclochlorotine, luteoskyrin and rugulosin, P. jirovecii, C. immitis and C. posadasii, B. dermatitidis, C. gattii VGIIc, phomopsins, tremorgens (penitrems and roquefortines), ergot alkaloids (clavines, ergopeptines, and lysergic acid amides), type A trichothecenes (T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin, Stachybotrys satratoxins, and diacetoxyscirpenol), and type B trichothecenes (nivalenol, deoxynivalenol, 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol, and 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol).Many other mycotoxins, including slaframine, moniliformin, sporidesmin [facial eczema], and Neotyphodium fungal endosymbiont toxins, will only afflict plant-eating farm animals.

Great price. Love this on jerkey (biltong) after you grind it. Also in stew or on steaks.

Purchased to use as sprouts, unsuccessfully. Most seeds do sprout. There was no mention on their selling page that these seeds would not sprout, just an email from the company when I contacted them. Direct quote in their email "Please note these coriander seeds do not sprout as they are conventional seeds. Only organic seeds sprout - you would need to purchase the Jiva Organics brand or another organic brand to see if they sprout." Maybe I can use them as BB's?
