I recently tried the Gillette Venus Refillable Disposable Razor with 4 Razor Refills, and I'm genuinely impressed with its performance and value. These are my favorite razors for the bikini area. For this purpose, I only use a blade once and then toss it. Shaving bumps and irritation are often associated with the dullness and microbial buildup of used razors, so this method prevents such issues. This style has less blades than the one I prefer to use on my legs (Embrace), and the lower blade count seems to be less irritating to the sensitive bikini area. Also, I buy these when the price goes down below $4 a unit, that way it keeps it cost effective, which is important if you're only using the blade once. Oh yeah... I NEVER use these on my legs. They will totally tear them up! And cause major skin irritation. Why only 4/5 Stars? The cartridges are a pain to handle and often slip out during blade changes, which creates a mess. Subsequently, I must store and change them out in an area seperate from the shower.

I do not understand why are there so many not satisfied reviews. I ordered 3 such sets, for me, my sister and my friend. All of us like them. To my mind they are much more better than usual "cheap" razors, the handle is very light and comfortable. My skin is like silk after shaving, it does not miss any hair. THe biggest advantage is that the hair which stays between blades, washes out easlily. (It does not in cheap razors) I did not try some super expensive razors but this one is absolutely OK. I would buy it again for sure. Review update:I bought this set again. Totally satisfied. I will order again.

I hadn't used Venus in yrs because they are so expensive so I was excited to find a good deal on a refillabe Venus razor. Unfortunately this Venus razor feels and shaves like a cheap disposable! I felt like i was scrubbing the skin off my legs and i still had stubble! Have you ever dropped your razor in the shower? If you drop this one, the head pops off and you can forget about getting it back on before the water runs cold! It's so hard to get on there! I've gone back to my Gillette Hydro Silk...should have never left in the first place! I'm extremely disappointed with Venus!

I have extremely sensitive skin and the more bells and whistles a razor has the worse my skin reacts. These are very basic razors that give me a close shave without making my skin red for the 2 days after I use it. I have never seen these razors in a store and they are an "add on" item so I add them to every Amazon purchase I make.

Though I'm a woman, I've been using the (men's) Gillette Mach 3 for nearly twenty years -- initially the regular Mach 3, and now the Mach 3 Turbo. Every so often I get annoyed at the high cost of the Mach 3 Turbo replacement blades. I end up buying some new razor, only to be reminded why I continue buying the Mach 3 Turbo replacement blades. When I saw the Gillette Simply Venus, I noticed that it only had three blades (like the men's Mach 3) and wondered if they'd finally come out with a "simple" women's razor, without all the extra blades, huge oval shaped cartridges, smelly lotion bars, etc. Turns out...NOPE! This feels like a cheap disposable. The flimsy, lightweight handle felt awkward in my hand. The mechanism where the handle snaps to the blade doesn't feel secure -- it's wobbly, and the blade doesn't pivot well. It took longer to shave because I was focused on gripping the handle in such a way that it wouldn't slip out of my my hand, and also making sure the blade was angled correctly against my skin to avoid cuts. While it did a passable job, I doubt the blades themselves are good for more than one single shave each.

It's a disposable razor... there's really not much to expect. It didn't give me the closest shave... but I didn't get nicks, cuts, or razor burns... so it worked like any high quality disposable razor I've ever used. For the price, and the 3 refills, it's worth the purchase.

Las cuchillas son excelente, buscaba algo para una depilación mas al ras y aun excelente precio y me funcionaron perfecto, desde que las compre incluso no he sufrido ningún corte. Sin embargo lo que si les mejoraría es el método de ensamblado al cabezal ya que mientras las uso se desarmas fácilmente y tengo que sujetar la navaja mas cerca de la union para evitar que se separe rápidamente. Si las recomiendo de cualquier manera.
