Replacement for the Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Pedal
As mentioned in the title, I've had the Eliminator Demon Drive pedal for almost seven years now, and I purchased an Alesis Strike Pro SE electronic kit. The Demon Drive beaters are felt all-around, and for the sake of longevity, I put a patch on the kick drum, as well as getting beaters with a harder, non-felt surface.I find the dual surface beater to be fine, as I wanted a plastic surface more than anything else, and it seems to work well. I don't believe I will find myself using the felt surface in the future, even on my acoustic kit, so I can't mention that aspect. In the end, $45 for two beaters is a bit of a price to pay, but if these do hold up and last, then I can't complain. 4/5 for the price, if a little lower these would be 5/5.

Miss the 4-way versatility
I’ve been a big Pearl fan for decades. I have a couple Pearl pedals and they both came with a beater that has 4 usable sides to fit whatever application you need. This doesn’t have that.

Hey, it's a Beater
After snapping the beater that came with my Pearl pedal (identical to this beater) through overuse and poor technique, I replaced it with a DW beater (what Ye Olde Local Drum Shoppe had on hand). I eventually found that massive thing to be too heavy so I ordered one of these, and now all is right with the world again. We'll see how long it takes me to break this one. It has a felt side & a solid plastic side. As I use an e-kit, I'm not really sure what the difference is, but the felt side seems to make less noise when smacking into my kick pad.

Excellent upgrade
This thing is great! I was still using my original, round felt head beater that got flattened out of shape. This thing works better and provides 2 impact options. The felt side sounds as good or better than traditional round felt beaters and the hard plastic side gives me a whole new sound and feel, a punchier, slightly louder tone. And it is more responsive when bouncing a couple of 16th notes off the bass drum, in my opinion. It also gives you the ability to quickly change your bass sound for the style of music you are playing at the time. For the price it is a no brainer upgrade. Just do it.

Could've had thicker felt surface
I realized from my other beater (same model) that the felt is only a thin layer of felt before it becomes plastic!!! I'm not a real hard hitter so time will tell before this one wears and I have to buy another one. If this one does wear down, I will try the other beater that Pearl puts out. One that has more of the felt beater than just a thin layer. I don't use the plastic side. I don't like the sound. To high end for me and it takes the uummph out of the drum.

I've tried several different beaters but I always come back ...
I've tried several different beaters but I always come back to this one. I play mostly jazz these days, and this beater - combined with a moleskin patch on the head - gives me the sound I need.

The beats!
Solid construction beater! Love that you can turn it around for the clicky bass drum sound.
