Very nice phone set, has a few issues
It will take a while to get used to . . .with all the wonderful features. . . . .and a lot of features it has!It is quite different than my old Uniden phones. But, it is time for new phones in my home! I like the fact it lights up under the keys when in use... the intercom is fantastic! It has a terrific blocking feature. The range . . .on this phone is awesome! I will say and have to admit. . .. I have made numerous calls to Panasonic to walk me through settings. . the instructions are crazy. LolIt is the most complicated phone I have ever owned. I have read other reviews on Amazon complaining of the same problem. One of the features I will miss is that the handsets do not blink when my messages go to voicemail and let me know. . . but it does display it on the answering machine (says check voicemail) which I will probably never use because I use ATT voicemail messenger through another service! But, you would have to be next to the answering machine to see that! All Uniden models have a voice mail light on each phone. It would would blink on every handset in the house if left a message. It would light up to let you know the phone was set on the receiver also. . . .a light on the base . . .this phone does not! This Panasonic . . .the extra phone receivers has no blinking either on the handsets which I truly miss. . . .it does let you know on the handsets if you look close up . .. but hard to see (says voicemail) does not light up either! I mean you would have to look every few minutes at your phone to know if you got a message. . . .so ridiculous? I called Panasonic to see if I was missing something or doing something wrong to achieve the setting and they said this phone does not come with that feature. . . very disappointing! I will defiantly miss that feature! The phone does talk to you and let you know who is calling if you are near the answering machine only . .you will hear it.. . .very cool! Everyone in the family loves that! My TV has ID caller display on it. . .so .. not a necessary feature I need! Panasonic told me it should leave a tone from all hands sets when I get a voicemail. I have never heard a tone a .. . .so I called Panasonic again and talked to a different representative and told me this phone does not come with that feature either . . . so I get a different story from different people on their website! The other problem I have is the volume on the phones are no where as loud on the highest setting as the Uniden phones I had. I would like the volume to be much louder. . . .I have trouble myself hearing on the high setting and I have perfect hearing! As, my father who lives with me .. . he will have a very, very hard time hearing out of these phones even with his hearing aids! Uniden settings for volume are so much better especially for my dad who is elderly. The volume on high is like a medium on the Uniden.. . .so that may be a reason not to purchase this phone! If I knew about the volume problem and voicemail issue we are having I would of most likely repurchase a Uniden again because it is very important feature for our household. I am not returning the phones. . for I have spent nearly $100 on this phone set and I have thrown the box out already. So, I will have to work around the hearing issue! I will put in a special hearing impaired phone in for my dad and my husband and I will have to get used to the lower volume on the Panasonic handsets. I just wish I knew this before purchasing! It may seem to be that I am complaining. . . .it is just hard to get used to new handsets and start all over again with another brand with different features. As, I stated earlier this is a very complicated phone.. . .you have to remember numbers and codes to make the changes in this phone . . . kinda crazy! Keep the instruction book close by . . will certainly need it because it has all the numbers & codes. This phone does so much . it will take some time to figure out everything new! All phones have there pros and cons. . ..so I listed the ones I like and the ones I don't!

Almost great cordless phone
This system was replacing another Panasonic Cordless system that had been left out in the rain. We use voice mail from the cable provider. In the old system there was a light and a button that you could push to access your voice mail via the base speaker phone. There is no easy way to access VM with this system. We now have to access VM through the phonebook which requires 3 button pushes rather than just 1. As far as I could tell, Panasonic has dropped that feature from all of its phones. The other negative is that the "on" button is a bit small. Other than that, the phone works great. I like the big caller ID screen and the voice quality is excellent.

Good phone but dial keys showing wear after a few weeks usage
This phone system installed easily and works very well. But after only a few weeks of usage the edges of the number keys are stating to show wear. The black paint on the edges of the keys is rubbing off resulting in a shabby appearance of the phone.

Does NOT work as described!!!!
Every time I answered this phone, I could hear myself talking in the earpiece. Even when on Speakerphone. The answering machine never seemed to work right, The phone slipped thru your ea while you had it to your head,There is No Button that tells you if it's charging when the Handset is on the cradle. Also, the backlight goes out within seconds of you answering or making a call which makes it almost impossible to see who is on te line, or if you called the right person.I had a V-Tech for 7 years prior to this system. What possessed me to buy ANY Panasonic electronic item.....I must have been stoned.Buy a V-Tech. You'll be much more satisfied!

Great phones
Really nice good quality phones. Very clear sound, no interference, good range. It uses the 1.9GHz frequency so there's no interference from WiFi or other typical 2,4GHz equipment. The phones and the answering machine are packed with features. It takes a couple days to play with them all.One of the great features of the answering machine is the message forwarding option. When you get a new message, it will call the number you designate, like say your cell phone. When you answer, it tells you that you have a message and allows you to play it back immediately. This is a really useful option that very few systems have. You can always call in to the machine and access your messages remotely like most systems, but with this option, you don't need to check, it lets you know right away.Another nice feature is that the base gets powered by the phone sitting in it, in case of a power outage. Cordless phones are usually useless when the power goes out. This one keeps your line working. The phones use standard AAA sized Nickel Metal Hydride batteries so you won't have to hunt if you need to replace them and the standby time is amazingly long.Overall, just a very well designed phone system full of features. Pretty much anything you could possible ask for. Great sound quality too.

Not what I was expecting
I bought this system to replace an old Uniden TRU-9465. I use the base as a speakerphone for conference calls and other customer support functions and to be honest the speaker in the base is horrible. If I could send this thing back I would. The sound is muddy and unclear so I have to resort to the handset speaker, which is much better. Next phone, back to Uniden.Pros:Good clarity on handset and handset speakerphone operationGood battery life especially on standby off chargerRange of handset OK, nothing specialCons:No flashing Voicemail light on baseBase speaker quality so bad it's not usableMany Configuration options are not menu driven, but are key codesBase of handset not completely flat, easy tip-over if used as speakerphoneDisplay very primitive looking, large pixels
