New Secrets of Successful Show Dog Handling
D**.
Excellent book for breeders that handle their own dogs
It is the only and first book I could get on how to handle my dogs when I go into the ring with them. I would definitely recommend it to any owner-handler. Not always you can have someone to explain the odd tips about handling and this book has them ! Then of course it is a matter of practice when you go into the ring, and also it comes to the judges. But in this book you can learn how a judge can see and watch the dogs.

Great book with lots of pictures!
This is a great book for anyone learning how to handle dogs. It gives you great pictures of how you are supposed to stack dogs. Other books tell you how to do it, but lack pictures. This also uses a variety of breeds in their pictures. It goes over stacking on the ground vs. stacking on the table. It also does a good job explaining the dog show world, which can be confusing for newcomers. I highly recommend this book...even more than George Alston's book (another great one!).

Things you wanted to Know about Dog Shows but were afraid to ask
First I have one of Mr Migliorini books from many years ago on showing It was very helpful then.. but a little basic. Mr Green I met at my second dog show. I had gone breed with my 6-9 month old Pug over 5 Specials one being a BIS dog...Mr Green was also showing in the ring he came up and Congradulated me and another man setting ringside who was a breeder owner handler of his own IG's gave me a piece of advice "With toy dogs watch the length of the skirt so it does not hit them in the face" the rest of the exbitors ignored me. To me this book was like that kind of experience....IT COVERS THE GOOD THE BAD and THE UGLY of Dog Showing.....BUT it is very helpful and covers serious things from A-Z but in a light hearted non preachy realistic way....For owner handler, show hobby breeder or someone who has been in the game for years that needs to Step up their game....THIS BOOKS FOR YOU

Excellent
This is the first show book I read. It was also a previous edition. When I finished the book I searched until I found an updated version and bought it right away. Even the old book was a bounty of information. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is beginning in the show ring. It's easy to read with a lot of really great pointers that still apply today. I read the whole thing!

A must for the owner-handler.
I show my own dogs and have shown to multiple group wins and placements as well as Best in Show. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning the finer points of presenting your dog to its best. Peter Green is a master handler and the tips he offers up beyond the basics are priceless (for example: how you can improve the look of your dog's front and rear movement on the down and backs) . This book and George Alston's "The Winning Edge" are the two I own and recommend.
