Artful Home Decor Ideas for Mixed Media Enthusiasts
I'm a mixed media/collage artist, so homes that are peppered with recycled and re-purposed decor is always a draw for me and this book is full of creative ideas for recycling items into fun and fabulous home goods. Projects range from easily accessible for the absolute beginner to projects that will provide enough challenge for advanced creative practitioners like myself. Ideas are offered for dining rooms, gardens and work spaces with great ideas for re-purposing humble every day items into imaginative decor. There are also great tips for 'thrifting' and 'junking', some of my favorite weekend pastimes. I had to pare down my collection of over a dozen home decor books, due to a recent move, and this book made the cut! I'm always inspired when I open this book - definitely a keeper!

Junking with an Artful Eye
Timeless and full of the idea you can always create something new. Read BEFORE you begin a cleansing of your garage, garden shed or attic. How many "possibly useful" components for new works of art have gone into the trash because we weren't looking with an artful eye?

so-so
This book was just kind of weird. The projects were odd and not necessarily good odd. They just seemed sort of slapped together and most didn't seem to have great design or flow to them. They were so taste specific that I just don't think they would appeal to very many people. This was sort of just a book of strange things someone made, but not that anyone else would necessarily want to make. They had form, but not function most of the time. The projects didn't solve particular problems or help with organization. They were kind of just frivolous compilations of junk.

Ideas I never would have thought of
Wow, I love recycling and using items that are in some folks opinions, no longer useful, loved, in style etc etc. Will be using several of the ideas. Just adjust some of them to what is available or on hand. I really enjoy it when visitors to my home say what a great idea, thats so creative etc etc.Madge Sala

Liked The Ideas
This book gave me a lot of new ideas for things I can make for my collectible/refurbished treasures business. I don't get the "salvage" vibe but I can translate into shabby very easily.

Two Thumbs Up
Another excellent book for reusing items. We need to stop sending so many items to the landfills and start using our imagination by reusing them. Thank-you to the author for using her creative side and putting this book together.

Good content, poor quality printing... drab.
Content was okay. Illustrations were poorly printed and drab. The finish on the cover of the book is poor. Subject matter is good, but the book itself is disappointing. The lack of quality kills the "I love this book" experience.

The ideas in this book are good but do need a certain level of DIY'ship and I find they are a little 'industrial' rather than shabby chic, so not pretty pretty. Still very informative and instructions are clear and give plenty of inspiration to try out other ideas.
