Namibia - Culture Smart!: The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture

I was excited by the title but disappointed by the book, which could be in part because it's now so outdated. It's strong on the "what," by including lots of facts, common sense observations and descriptive information (like the kind found in most travel guides), but weak on the "why," of providing insights which explain the interesting history and background for the unique culture and customs of Namibia.

There are cultural differences in Africa and it's good to know them before you screw up. I like the Culture Smart series and usually buy one for countries I visit. Small, quick reference

We hoped to travel to Namibia when we toured South Africa last May, but didn't get to go. If you travel there, this would be helpful.

Very helpful guide for our first visit to Namibia. Will use again if we are fortunate enough to go back. Clear and we'll written. Easy to navigate around different sections. Offers both appropriate depth but also clear overviews.

I have visited Namibia several times and am still getting to grips with this vast, sparse country. This primer helps.

a friend gave me one of these books to take on trip to Namibia...the tour people were so impressed with the information init that when got back to UK ordered one and posted it out to them. found it very useful when touring around especiallythe information on the various cultures.
