Do not listen to anyone negative about these
Have tried drop ins two and three times the price. I use $800 UE customs daily and while these are not as good as those, these things are simply the best out there. All those idiots saying otherwise have not taken the time to fit them properly. Right as I got these I was disappointed. They were no where near my ear in the Bell Bullit helmet pocket. Measured where my ears where exactly and went to work. Got my Dremel out and started very carefully grinding down 1/8 inch exactly where my ears would benefit the most. Took an hour or so but when you take your time they are amazing. 75 mph and heard everything great. Do not talk on the phone while I ride so only using for music and GPS. I paired this with Fiio BTR5 and it is perfect.

Better than the jbl's
In my opinion, these sound better than the jbl's that came with my cardo. Not that the jbls had much base, but maybe a tad more than the uclear's, but overall volume is better than with the jbl's. In ear headphone speakers have the best sound but I've tried so many and they just hurt my ears.

Best boom for the buck!!
I generally don't take the time to write reviews for the products I buy, but I had to for this one to help any other riders who had the same frustration I had with getting decent sounding music into a helmet. I tried the pre-wired Bluetooth helmets and they just didn't get loud enough and had almost zero bass. I tried three other brands of "drop-in" speakers and they were always pure treble with no mids or bass. Those were returned the next day. These gems were finally the right set. Exactly what I've been looking for.... inexpensive and great sounding speakers. Once I figured out how I could mount them in my helmet and plugged my iPod into them, they almost sound like you are slipping on a pair of regular on-the-ear headphones. Great bass and a level sound across the board. They get really loud too. You will not be turning your music player all the way up (at least I couldn't). I used an ipod nano 6th gen and it was plenty of power for these. No need for a headphone amp. They did not distort like the other brands I tried. Even at high volume, I could still hear environmental sounds outside my helmet. At any speed above 60mph, the wind noise in my helmet drowned out the music. This is unavoidable for any headphones that don't actually fit inside your ear. They are thicker than normal, so make sure you have space for them in your helmet before buying them. If your helmet doesn't have cutouts for speakers, you may have to etch out a little pocket for them or it might be too much pressure on your ears. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the thin rubber wires are a little flimsy and I think they may break easily over time. It would have been nice to see them covered in nylon strand like some premium headphones have, but that may have added cost to the item. If these ever do break, I'll immediately buy another pair since these have proven their worth and are the best sound you'll get for this price.

Mounted inside my helmet these sound great
Bought these to mount inside my motorcycle helmet. They sound quality is pretty darn good given that they're very low profile and unpowered. I'm connecting them to a thumbnail size Bluetooth receiver mounted outside the helmet that syncs to my phone and it works great. The low end could be a bit cleaner as there is some mild distortion when I crank the volume to max but otherwise VERY satisfied and would absolutely use these again over any other in-helm speakers I've tried out.I did not use the included sticky-back velcro mounts as they add at least 1/4" of thickness; instead I used some industrial strength velcro tape that's very low profile to mount inside and they're rock solid without pressing on my head or ears. As with any DIY custom install of this type, your install will vary based on the internal structure of your helmet. I can say that since I wear earplugs when I ride to reduce road and wind noise, I mounted these as nearly directly over my ears as possible and they cut right through the earplugs with no issues. I have read that some people will mount these just BEHIND the ears but they weren't loud enough for me mounted that way while wearing earplugs.

Buyer beware, look inside your helmet.
Arrived today attempted to install into my main helmet (bell star newest version) and they will not fit no matter where I placed them in the ear pocket. They were too thick and the helmet does not have ample room for them. Got one of my older helmets also a bell star about three years old and they happen to have a pocket inside the ear space for speakers, so looks like they will stay in that helmet. Also tried to install into a shoei rf1200 same issue as the new bell star helmet no room for them. I suggest to look in your helmet before buying. I got away with them only having multiple helmets.

Great for Skiing
Best thing is that these are a little thinner than my old wireless speakers and the improved ear comfort is night and day. The ones marketed for skiing are too thick and very uncomfortable, whether wired or wireless. Also love not having to worry about connection glitches or remembering to charge speakers. The sound quality is fine for me. It’s not like skiing is an audiophile environment anyway. I find them plenty loud. The wire connection hangs right below my helmet earpiece. Very easy to undo for lift chair conversation and reconnect for downhill. I prefer this to taking my phone out or tapping my earpieces to pause audio. As for the wire, because I’m wearing a helmet, I can’t feel it.
