👍
I was recently very disappointed with a new Snark tuner as it was very unstable, difficult to use and just not as good as they used to be.The MARTISAN NCT-20 however is a little gem. I like to use 432hz guitar tuning and it is perfect for quickly changing down from the industry standard 440hz.Here’s some interesting stuff about 432…The International Standards Agency set 440hz as the standard ‘concert pitch’ in 1953.Mozart is said to have used 432hz for all of his music.Emergency services sirens resonate at 432hz so as to gain attention without inducing panic.432hz is used widely in tv and movies. That’s where the lump in your throat comes from when Lassie comes home or the ‘feel good’ entertainment shows like The X Factor. The sun is around 864,000 miles in diameter. 432 x 2 = 864. While that may seem like consequence, also consider the diameter of the moon, which is 2160 miles. 432 x 5 = 2160. There are also 864,000 seconds in one day.In Hinduism, the Kali Yuga is said to last 432,000 years. The Kali Yuga is only part of a greater cycle known as the Great Cycle, which lasts 4,320,000 years.Traditional yoga schools teach you that ALL living beings exhale and inhale 21,600 times in a day. 21,6000 x 2 = 43,2000.Wilson says that a computer confirmed the most exceptional golf ball around was the Wilson 432, a golf ball with 432 dimples. Most of the recordings on The Rolling Stones album Beggars Banquet are tuned to 432hz. Other artists using 432hz include the likes of Hope Sandoval, The Soundcarriers and I’m sure many others.…also check out the Schumann Resonance and Verdi’s A.I personally find that when I tune to 432hz I connect (with the music) on an emotional level more easily. Alternatively, tuning back to 440hz achieves an uplift so there’s a time/place/use for both and the MARTISAN is perfect for the job.10/10

A great little tuner
Being a lazy so and so I was a little fed up with plugging into my polytune footpedal to tune my guitar and wanted something even easier to use. I had looked at the polytune clip on but at 5 times the price of this little gem I thought it overkill. After reading some other reviews I thught I'd take a punt on this and I haven't been dissapointed. It's got a very clear and colourful display and is quick and accurate to read out. It's also easy to clip on and position the screen to give a clear view as it's nicely articulated and easily positionable when it's clipped on the headstock. It's an all plastic unit so durability may be an issue in the long run if it's exposed to the kind of abuse gigging musicans may encounter like being dropped or trodden on or generally bashed around a bit, but if its stored safely after use I can't see why it won't last a long time. The clip part is nice soft rubber so the chances of it marking your instrument are essentially zero if that's important to you. For the price it's totally decent and a bit of a steal. There's a few modes on offer, easily selecteable with one of the buttons to suit different instruments such as violin, ukelele and bass so the unit will give you standard tuning for those instruments. It also has a chromatic mode so it can also give you all the notes should you need if you were doing a non standard tuning for example.to summarise, it does everything I would want in a tuner. It's super quick to use, locks on quickly and has a colourful and clear dispaly and is accurate. Probably the best thing I've bought for less than a tenner in some years.

Easy to use
I needed a chromatic tuner for my autoharp and this is perfect. Clips onto the tuning pegs, or the strap button, and the clear display makes it easy to read. For the price it is perfect.

Adequate but not great
When it's working it's not a bad little unit. However, the ON button is the same button that switches you between Guitar, Ukulele and Bass which means that you'll often start using it, finding your tunings are all off, and then you realise you've actually got it on the wrong setting. It also allows you to switch between different frequencies which isn't a particularly useful feature, especially when it's really easy to knock a button and end up in the wrong tuning frequency. We bought this for my son who has been playing guitar for about a year. He accidentally knocked it into the wrong frequency range and snapped a string trying to hit an unobtainable note. It's also a bit flimsy.

Great tuner for the price
Very similar to the boss one I get but at a better price. Although I will say it sometimes is a little iffy, which is alright if you’ve got good ears to notice the mistakes or when it hasn’t clicked in properly. But for the price I can’t really complain
