Well Made, Takes Work
Very early in process with this project to install Humminbird Helix 7 Gen 2 DI and SI transducer on Motorguide Xi3 Trolling Motor.... Thought I would go this route vs Transducer Shield mount to save a little money... Having read the reviews prior to purchase I was expecting to need to make this mount work vs just putting it on.... Main thing I’d read was the transducer seemed to move a lot in the other reviews so I planned to work to eliminate the movement from the start.... I took the supplied transom mount apparatus and sawed it off with hacksaw leaving the Ratchet Clamp arms attached to the base then began removing material... Ultimately I had to separate arms from the base as 3/4” is all the space available in center of mount between the screw and base.... Using a Dremel with rasp bit, I removed material then checked fit... Painstaking but worth the work.... Additionally, I didn’t use the supplied nylon spacers as I felt they allowed movement, opting for Stainless Steel 1/4” flatwashers ... Needing approximately 1/4” tall stack of washers each side... A bit of trouble getting all of these parts in between the arms of the mount and on the screw that is supplied but doable... I feel this a good mount but Rig Rite should spend a bit more time on it to make these sort of adaptations unneeded.... I’d recommend this if you have a slim budget and are capable of working with your hands...

Not sure what size transducer it was intended for
It's all metal. It's sturdy. Not sure what motor it was intended to mount to or what transducer it was intended to mate to. Had to significantly bend the saddle outward to open the curve to get it to fit my trolling motor. Worried about vibration interference between the body of the trolling motor and the mount's saddle so I installed some 3M automotive two-sided tape to act as a dampener to vibration. The bracket for attaching the transducer wasn't even close to fitting. The nylon spacers didn't help with fitment at all. Best option for me was to put it in the vice and use a metal hand brake to put two 45 deg. bends into each side of the bracket to narrow it down enough to fit my Humminbird transducer. If I would have known all of this beforehand, I would have spent the little bit of extra money to buy the Minnkota brand trolling motor transducer mount that was available through Amazon. That's what I get for trying to save a few dollars.

Great mount for the tranducer
Added a fish finder up front for the boat. This way my son can see the fish as we pass and not from a back transducer, which would be showing what has passed already. Easy to mount to a trolling motor as well as neat in appearance. Very sturdy mount as well.

Heavy Duty
I have a 80 lb thrust MT. and the radius was a little large for this bracket, but managed to spread it to fit. MY transducer stem that fits on the bolt at bottom is narrow, so filled in on both sides with included spacers and my washers, but was not tight enough. So passed bolt though one side of bracket ,then washers, then transducer, more washers and then locking nut, and out other side of bracket. Next tighten up locking nut toward transducer stem. and place nut on out side of bracket. Try to place the transducer to the rear slot and high so it is more protected. A great price for such a heavy duty universal bracket.
