what is the shelf life (expiration) on this item?

I recently purchased one of these kits for my go bag that I keep in my car at all times. I have made quite a number or searches and purchases in the medical fields to make sure that I am fully prepared to care for my loved ones should an emergency arise. This kit is perfect for that mission. It is small and lightweight, about the size and weight of a small wallet but slightly thicker. I cannot guarantee how fresh the product you receive will be because different vendors obviously have different products but the one that I received was in perfect condition and it has at least 2 years of good shelf life and I will probably keep it longer because most of the things inside the kit will still be good as long as you leave the kit sealed and the items in their original packaging. Has anyone actually used it succesfully?

Yes, Had a tooth break at the beginning of a 5-day cruise. About 1/3 of the tooth was gone. The instructions were useless. They did not provide instructions for the contents. I chose to use the stuff in the tube. I didn’t dry the area the first time so the temporary stuff only lasted about 2 days. I did it again and dried the area as much as possible. The second one lasted 5 days till I could see my dentist. Be sure to pack an amount in the space that isn’t too large, you don’t want it so big it protrudes onto your tongue or interferes with your bite. It rubbed my tongue a bit and caused a blister but it stayed in place and I didn’t feel pain the duration of my cruise. I was also able to eat and drink normally including coffee and frozen drinks and ice cream. I did take extra caution, however, not to brush the area too much after that caused the first one to come out. Bottom line, I’m so glad I had it. I can’t imagine how I would have made it through that week without it. The cruise ships do NOT have dental supplies.

The description states that this item "can be seen from miles away." What is that about?

i think they mixed up some of the info. not only is there no reason for it to be seen for miles, i dont think it can clean and close wounds. its a simple dental kit.

It's an emergency dental kit. If you have no dental training it will get you through 12 hrs. to five days. One of those things you should have in an emergency preparedness kit or with you travel at all.
