Worth the time, $$ and discomfort
When I first got this I was apprehensive; it is expensive and what if it did not work. I kept watching the other reviews to see if anyone would come back and make updates. Since no one has, I will give a review. I have had mine about 10 weeks. I saw some changes after just a few weeks, but now I look at my 'trouble' spots and see a pretty good improvement. The most significant change has been to the spots on my hand. I had only two spots, so I only treated that small area. I only did these because others mentioned it helped their spots on their hands. Now when I look at my hand, the treated area is obviously different from the rest of my hand. I don't have spots all over my hand, but the one area looks tighter, less aged. Guess I will have to treat the rest of my hand. As to my face, part of my results come from losing about 20 lbs (less sagging), but I am sure that is not what caused the smile lines, the lines around my lips and the wrinkles around my eyes to ease up. I used to find make up in my smile lines by the end of the day, now I don't; they are not creases any more. My lips no longer have those spider wrinkles around them. I am in my mid 50's and not a spring chick, but this little device has given my face and hands quite a bit of relief from standard aging. Living in the desert often brings some harsh treatment for skin, and this has really helped. Others talk about intense dryness, I suggest Cu3 After Laser Treatment, Neova Hydromist, Neova Night Therapy Crème and DHC Olive Oil moisturizer. These have kept me from flaking or being dried out. I also upped my hydration (water intake) to counter the drying effects of the machine. One person commented that you needed to be an electronics genius to get the thing to work, I disagree. I could not disagree more! It is basically plug it in, charge it up, follow the booklet and be patient; 8, 12 weeks can seem like a long time. But for me the results have been worth it. It is expensive, and you have to dedicate about 20 minutes each day. It is painful but other laser treatments (dr office) are also painful. I had IPL twice to treat freckles and this is almost identical in pain. Redness, use the CU3, lather it on after treatment, let it soak in for a while and if you do the treatment in the evening by morning the redness is nearly gone. Now, my skin is just as red after treatment today as it was the first treatment, but with the moisturizers and a good night's sleep it is just about entirely gone before I go to work in the morning. Draw backs..... I wanted to 'zap' more times than the machine allows. After using mine for a month and a half I decided to purchase a second one. Now when I max out the first I can continue with the second. Not recommended by the materials that come with the machine, but what the hay; if it works... Packaging. This thing comes in a terrific box. I kept mine as eventually I will be moving out of this country to the next assignment and it may keep it from getting damaged. I do appreciate good packaging since all items have to travel from the U.S. to Germany for processing, then strapped to a pallet before shipping to Riyadh. Most things come with some damage but this one sailed through. For those that received 'duds', give the company a chance to get you a better/functioning device; it is well worth it. I do recommend it, and hope others find the results I did.

iluminage Skin Smooting Laser
I was interested to try the iluminage Skin Smoothing Laser to see if it would help the appearance of lines around my eyes and mouth. I've had some "crow's feet" for a while not, but am just starting to notice a couple of "smile lines." I'm 41 and have very fair skin. I can handle mild discomfort, so thought to myself, "Why not?" First, the pain was more intense than I expected, especially around the mouth area. I tried using a pain relieving cream several minutes before using the laser treatment, but it didn't make it much more pleasant. In addition, my skin stayed red for quite a long time after each use. I used the laser at night and expected the redness to fade by morning, but it didn't (good thing I often work from home). Someone with less fair or les sensitive skin may not have the same problem with redness. I think I could get used to the discomfort, but I can't use something every night that causes noticeable redness well into the next day. Most makeup makes my skin break out, so covering up the redness with foundation isn't an option. Since I couldn't continue using the device, I unfortunately can't comment on the long term effectiveness. I think before purchasing this item you need to be aware of how it will affect you. I would suggest trying a laser treatment at a spa so you know what to expect and how your skin will respond. If it goes well, you'd save money with this device in the long run. If you don't like the laser treatment or have any side effects, you know not to spend your money on this one.

It’s a little painful but you get used to it
I have only had this a few weeks but I do see some improvement. It’s a little painful but you get used to it. I use on my neck and chest even though it says approved for face only

Bad Sensor
Looks and feels really well made. Elegant design. Assembled in the USA but parts are made in Asia. Looks can be deceiving and it certainly applies to this device. The sensor, which needs be in contact with the skin in order for the laser to be activated, often times did could not detect that it was already in full contact with my skin; in this situation, I would place it in different locations such as my cheek, forearm, bicep, in hoping to get it to work again. Sometimes this did work, sometimes it didn't. Turning the device on/off sometimes solved this issue until few pulses in, the same problem appeared. Even if it was fully functional, it would take a lot longer time since it only deliver a single pulse at a time. I returned this and ordered the Tria version. It is much easy and faster to use.
