Great Product but Earthway Needs to Include the Slicing Hoe
I bought my first one in 2015. I used it heavily. One of the handles broke in 2025, so I got almost 10.5 seasons out of it. It's a great product. It costs half as much as low-wheel hoes I've tried, and it's twice as good. Highly recommended. So why only four stars? One, it's devilishly difficult to assemble. I'm average when it comes to such things. I'm three hours into it right now and wishing I'd hired out the job to a local handyman. Two, it doesn't come with the slicing hoe and the slicing hoe is expensive (the cost tacks 50% onto the price of the hoe), so I think that makes the product's pricing deceptive. I can't imagine who uses the tiller and hiller attachments. I'll sell them for scrap. The tines are kinda cool, but for weed control, nothing beats the slicer. I wish Earthway would just include the slicer and increase the total cost to $200. I feel like a bought a brand new car for $30,000 and now I have to pay $15,000 for the wheel attachments.

A bit difficult to assemble by yourself
The 30 minute assemble isn't accurate! It took both my wife & me to put it together. It was way longer than I thought it would be. The instructions were not user friendly but the video was very helpful. I like how it handles when I'm making furrows although it doesn't seem to be very sturdy. It kinda wobbles around more than I'd expected it would. But I'll make it work!

Durability
The products wheel is wobbly and the whole garden plow will work fine in loose soil but that’s it. If you have wet or damp soil the product doesn’t work real well. I am a gardener for many years and was raised on a farm as a boy.

Assembly confusing
I found that the nuts in assembly seem to be made of a softer material, as I had trouble putting it together multiple times for tightening show wear on the nut! Have not found any to replace these with, so have not used the device in my garden!

This is the good one !
This is the cultivator I've looked for for years. Had one like it fifty years ago .. this one is the same in all essentials and is still the one that's perfect for a back yard garden, even better now that I'm fifty years older. I live in an area of heavy clay so I've used a lot of peat and garden soil and Holy Cow and had a guy with a big gas tiller churn it all in to almost a foot deep and now I won't need anything but this little push cultivator in future. It is not designed to break ground like a big tiller, but once you get the initial tilling done this is all you'll need .. try making at least a couple of passes with it, shallow to begin, then deeper. It's very easy to maneuver so you can do wide row planting if you like. I don't know what the problem is with the comments about a wobbly wheel, just follow the diagram and that won't happen. I'm an 82 year old woman and put mine together by myself. .. it runs like a dream, far less effort than a push lawn mower. And if you do hit a snag, email their help line .. you get a real live person who actually knows what he's talking about.

Makes gardening much simpler.
I love this cultivator! I use it between my rows to break up the soil which is clay heavy. Makes hilling up potatoes, corn, anything much simpler, and there is way less hoeing. Much gentler on the back than tackling it all with a hot

Time saver!
Assembly is not terrible. Instructions can be vague if you're not mechanically savy. I used both the cultivator tines and hilling attachment. Both worked as they should. This tool is not a rototiller! It is meant to be used in pre worked soil. I would not suggest using it in high clay soils. Overall a great back saving tool.

Works great, instructions could have few more pictures. The packaged arrived quickly, however it wasn't taped shut and lid of box was open.

I bought this because. at 78, I am not as flexible as i used to be but I enjoy growing vegetables. I was hoping that this would be a multi purpose machine with different attachments for preparing a seed bed, ridging potatoes and hoeing between crops. The first two it does and it will clear seedlings but it won't remove more established weeds. Annoyingly, Earthway make an attachment to do this but it doesn't come with the machine and is not easily available in the U.K. Such a pity. Having had this machine a year the cultivator attachment is very good but does not clear weeds. Another minor irritant is that to change the cultivator tool you have to remove one of the tines of the cultivator before you can remove the bolt to fit another implement. There is a simple solution, of course, I regard that bolt as a captive bolt and bought another M10 x 50 mm coach bolt to use with other attachments. I know this tool has been around for a long time and I am puzzled that the manufacturers have never thought of this for themselves . Having said that, a combination of this machine and a varomous wheel hoe for weed clearance has made it possible for this old man with a duff leg and only one eye to continue to grow most of the food we eat.
